Edith Cunko; 84; formerly of Brownstown; Fayette City; passed away Wednesday; June 16; 2010; in the home of her daughter in Allendale; S.C. A daughter of the late Reuben and Stella Usher Williams; she was born in Brownstown on Oct. 7; 1925. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; of Belle Vernon; and the former Holy Spirit Church; of Fayette City. Edith was a former duck pin bowler; wrote poetry; and had received a Golden Poet Award for her poem What The Morning Brings. Until her move to South Carolina in February 2010; she had been a lifelong resident of Brownstown. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; Ruby and Wayne Hendrix; with whom she made her home in Allendale; S.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law; Edward F. A daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Ferencz Girhiny; she was born in Pricedale (Rostraver Township) on Sept. 26; 1921. Formerly of Monessen; Emma was a former member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon and had resided in Dayton since 1991. Prior to her marriage; Emma was employed in the accounting department of Pittsburgh Steel. She was a member of several card clubs and enjoyed baking; cooking and entertaining.
