Amy L Bronson Barber; 82 of Lowber; Fayette City; PA; passed away on Sunday; May 27; 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Connie and Bob Skibo of Fayette City; Pa.
She was born in Lowber on March 8; 1930; daughter of the late George B. and Gertrude Smith Bronson .
Amy graduated from Brownsville High School in 1948. She was very active with the class reunion committee. She was a secretary with the frazier School District; retiring in 1992. She was a lifetime member of Little Redstone Presbyterian Church; and served the church as a Deacon; Elder and Clerk of Session. Amy worked on the election board of Jefferson Twp. as Judge of Elections for 40 years. She volunteered with the Fayette Co. Fair. She was head of the Home Ec. Dept.; Section 18. Amy enjoyed quilting;sewing; baking wedding cakes; her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son; Larry & wife Kathy Barber of Perryopolis; two daughters; Carol Barber of Bridgeville and Connie and husband Bob Skibo of Fayette Cit; eight grandchildren; Tracy & husband Jim Frye; Rohnda & husband Don Hatheway; Larry & wife Cara Barber; Chris Barber; Amy & husband Chris Brikhiemer; Sarah Petro; Scott Petro and Clint Skibo; eight great-grandchildren; Travis and Kate Frye; Chelsea; Donnie; Morgan; Veronica and Reagan Hatheway and Nina Bowser. Also a very special sister-in-law and friend Idella Kadlub.
Amy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years; Clyde Barber on March 3; 2012; two brothers George and Charles Bronson; two sisters Lauretta Renner and LaVerna Gatalo.
Friends will be received Wednesday; May 30; 2012; 2- 4 & 6- 9 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home;Inc.; 334 Main Street; Fayette City; PA.(724)-326-5621. Funeral Services will be held Thursday; May 31; 2012 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Michael Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery; Belle Vernon; Pa.
