Mary Martz Daugherty; 90; of Charleroi; formerly of North Belle Vernon; died Friday; June 11; 2010; at 11:15 p.m. at Nevaeh Cove Nursing Home; Fallowfield Township. Born Jan. 10; 1920; in Monessen; she was the daughter of the late John and Sofia Sengesin Martz. A longtime resident of Belle Vernon; Mrs. Daugherty was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; and was a retired waitress from Charleroi Elks Club with 20 years of service. She was a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas Belle Vernon Court 1522; and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed knitting; crocheting; and bingo. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law; Virginia McManus; of Chesapeake; Va.; Mary and Ronald Unger; of Overgaard; Ariz.; daughter-in-law; Donna L. Daugherty; of Dormont; five grandchildren; Earl McManus III; of Virginia; Cyndi Friess; of Virginia; Valerie Unger; of Arizona; Rebecca Lovato of Colorado; Kimberly Shipp; of Dormont; seven great-grandchildren; Nicholas; Emily; Natalie; Lexie; Keagan; Logan and Marlee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Harry (Doc) Daugherty; in 1982; son; Robert Harry Daugherty; in 1996; son-in-law; Earl McManus Jr.; four brothers; Stephen; Joseph; Harry and Paul Martz; two sisters; Katherine Cherven and Virginia Rusak; and a beloved brother-in-law; Joseph A. Norma J. Falbo;83; of White Oak; formerly of Belle Vernon; passed away on Tuesday; July 2; 2013 at her residence. A daughter of the late Domenico A. and Josephine Ambrose Mendicino; she was born in Belle Vernon on August 23; 1929. Norma was an active member of the McKeesport Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses until illness resulted in her being homebound. Survivors include her husband of 61 years; Ralph Falbo; Jr.; a son and daughter-in-law; Larry and his wife Debra Falbo of White Oak; two sisters and a brother-in-law; Rose Sabatini of Almont; Michigan; Teresa and her husband Donald O’Toole of Belle Vernon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by three brothers; Michael; James and Joseph Mendicino and two sisters and two brothers-in-law; Ann and John Ross; Adeline Nuccetelli; and Leo Sabatini. There will be no public visitation. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
