Born Oct. 28; 1930; in
Washington Township; she was
a daughter of the late Andrew
and Helen Glazar Strychalski.
A lifelong resident of
Washington Township; she was
a member of St. Joseph Polish
National Catholic Church;
Fairhope.
Mrs. Rovny retired in 1995 as
a custodian with the Belle Vernon
Area School District.
She was a member of the
Brownsville Bowling League
and a former member of the
Washington Township Food
Bank. She had also helped
many years as an election
worker.
Survivors include three sons
and two daughters-in-law;
Charles and Robin Sztroin Jr. of
Belle Vernon; Myron Byrdsong
at home and Gary and Denise
Sztroin of Belle Vernon; one
daughter and son-in-law;
Gloria and Michael Bennett Jr.
of Belle Vernon; three brothers;
Joseph Strychalski of Trafford;
Stanley Red Strychalski and
Walter Strychalski; both of
Belle Vernon; three sisters;
Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Belczyk of
Belle Vernon; Ann Glister of
North Versailles and Nellie
Gumbo of Belle Vernon; six
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents;
she was preceded in death by
her husband; Joseph A. Rovny;
on March 11; 1986; two
brothers; John and Edward
Strychalski; and one sister;
Mildred Spazak.
Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a Prayer service will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m.;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Joseph Polish National Catholic Church;Fairhope;with the Rev.Felix Pyzowski;pastor;as celebrant. Leda DeBerardinis Rizzuto;89;of Monessen;died Friday;March 7;1997;at Jefferson Hospital;Jefferson. She was born March 24;1907;in Nereto;Italy;a daughter of the late Abramo and Guiseppena DeBerardinis. Mrs.Rizzuto was a resident of Donora from 1920 ato 1938 and moved to Monessen where she was currently residing. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church;Monessen. For the past 35 years she had worked with her son as sales clerk and assistant manager for Rizzuto Jewelers of Charleroi. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law;Frank J. Bucky (Monessen City Treasurer) and Nancy Stura Rizzuto of Monessen;a grandson and his wife;Frank J.Jr.and Rebecca Rizzuto;and a granddaughter;Dana Jo Rizzuto. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Frank M.Rizzuto;who died Oct.12;1969;and two brothers;Tito DeBerardinis and Patsy DeBerardinis. He was retired from Rostraver Township and Patterson Supply. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church;Belle Vernon. He was a member of SAC;the Friends Club;and a former member of the Monessen Elks. Survivors include one daughter;Lois E.Laidley of Charleroi;one son;Jerry Ray Lawson of Pittsburgh and three grandchildren. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Ruth Robinson;and one sister;Esther Burkes on Jan.24;1997. A member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon;she had lived in New York since 1992. Mrs.Rogers had been a waitress at Rego’s Restaurant in Charleroi for many years. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her first husband;Alvin Peters;in 1950;her second husband;Henry Rogers;in 1987;and a son LeRoy Peters;in 1976.
