Barbara C.Simko;81;of R.D.1;Fayette City;died Wednesday;Dec.21;1994 at 10:15 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born Jan.18;1913;in Monessen;a daughter of the late Anton and Mary Plaventich. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;and the CFU Lodge 194;Monessen. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law;Barbara Ann and Patsy DeRienzo of R.D.Belle Vernon;and two grandsons;Patrick and Matthew DeRienzo. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Edward S.Simko on Sept.18;1979;and several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. A Prayer service will be held Saturday at 10:30 p.m.;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 a.m.in the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Richard E.Mackiewicz as celebrant. Martin Sivic Jr.; 65; of Belle
Vernon R.D. 5; Rostraver Township; died Sunday; Oct. 9; 1994;
at 7:34 a.m.; in Jefferson
Hospital. He was born Nov.2;1928;in
Washington Township; a son of
the late Martin Sr. and Marie
Nemec Sivic.
Mr. Sivic had resided in Rostraver Township for the past
30 years. He was a member of
St. Sebastian Roman Catholic
Church; Belle Vemon. A veteran of the Korean Conflict; he
had served with the U.S. Army.
He retired in 1981 from the
Pipe Shop of the U.S.X. Irvin
Works in Dravosburg.
Mr. Sivic is survived by his
wife; Josephine Levandosky
Sivic; a son; Martin J. Sivic; and
a daughter; Maria Sivic.

Belle Vernon;Monday from 7 to 9
p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Jack A.Skekel;64;of 1009 Dunlap St.;Monessen;died Monday;Sept.26;1994;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. He was born Oct.11;1929;in Monessen;a son of Sally Nyrhinen Skekel;who survives;and the late Alex (Skek) Skekel. A graduate of Monessen High School;he is also a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had been employed at Peoples Gas Co.for 35 years before retiring. Mr.Skekel was a member of St.Paul Episopal Church of Monongahela. In addition to his mother;he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law;David A.and Donna Skekel of Thurmont;Md.;one grandsn;Matthew A.Skekel;and one sister;Mrs.John (Judith) Parks of South Park. In addition to his father;he was preceded in death by his wife;Jan Lazzari Skekel;and one sister;Gertrude Tretter.
