Phillips; and five sisters; Grace;
Jenny and Jessie Phillips;
Bertha Spencer and Gertrude
West.
She is survived by four nephews
and three nieces.Friends

Anna Costella Skurkay;76;of 207 Johnson Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;Feb.26;1995;at 9:40 a.m.in her home. Mrs.Skurkay was born Sept.14;1918;in Hannastown;a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Costella. She retired in 1978 as a secretary-clerk for the Githens Insurance Center of Belle Vernon;where she was employed for 15 years. Mrs.Skurkay was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon Area. She was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon and St.Barbara’s Guild of the church. Her husband;John B.Skurkay;died Nov.22;1992. A sister;Mary Makovsky;is also deceased. Surviving are two daughters;Mrs.William (Mary Joan) Weinheimer of Pittsburgh and Mrs.William (Patricia Ann) Snodgrass of Canonsburg;and three grandchildren;Kristen Anne Humphrey;Ann Elizabeth Weinheimer and Jonathan Paul Weinheimer. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Relatives and friends will gather at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Mary Street;Belle Vernon;on Wednesday at 10 a.m.for funeral services with the Rev.John Kluchko;pastor;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas Service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. illness.
He was born in LaBelle; Jan.
2;1919; a son of the late Andrew
and Helen Glazer Strychalski.
Mr. Strychalski was a retired
coal miner from the Mathies Coal Mine. He was a member of
the UMWA.
A veteran of World War II; he
served with the U.S. Army. He
was a member of the Belle Vernon
American Legion Post 659
and the Fairhope Rod and Gun
Club. Surviving are his wife;
Susan Buchton Strychalski;whom he married on Feb.11;1939;a son and daughter-in-law;
