John L. Crea; 79; of Fairhope; Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; Dec. 5; 2001; in Country Care Manor; Fayette City. A son of the late Dominic and Loretta Dugan Crea; he was born April 5; 1922; in Bescoe. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church; Belle Vernon; and the Goldstar Post 7023 VFW of Perryopolis. A U.S. Army Corp of Engineers veteran of World War II; he was a life member of the former VFW Post 3557 of Belle Vernon. Mr. Crea had lived in Fairhope for over 40 years and was formerly of Fayette City. He retired from U.S. Steel; Irvin Works; in 1989. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; John and Rebecca Crea of Ruffsdale; two daughters and a son-in-law; Susan and Ray Wozniak and Jonie Crea; all of Belle Vernon; and three grandchildren; John Lawrence Crea; Christa Lynne Crea and Kira Nicole Crea. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Phyllis Breakwell Crea; Sept. 26; 1998. Michael Mike Babich; 89; of Jefferson Township; Fayette City; died Monday; Dec. 3; 2001; in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Dec. 1; 1912; in Washington Township; a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Benyak Babich. He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Brownsville. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen plant; and was a Jefferson Township supervisor for 18 years. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Charles; John; Frank; Joseph and Andrew Babich; and two sisters; Ellen Barota and Mary Blanchard. Surviving are his wife; Margaret Honeycheck Babich; children; Sandy Babich Gallo and husband Joe of Newell and Margaret Ann Babich Peters and husband Ed of Jefferson Township; two brothers; Paul and Samuel Babich; and two sisters; Madeline Zubricky and Elizabeth Bednar. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Jenifer Gallo and Megan Peters. Helen R. Sivie; 88; died Wednesday; Dec. 5; 2001; at Humbert Lane Health Care Center; Washington. She was born July 29; 1913; in Monessen; a daughter of the late Wasyl and Maria Dobosh Sivie. Miss Sivie recently returned to the Mon Valley after residing in New York for 65 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of New York City and was retired from Gulf Oil Co.; where she worked as a legal secretary. She also enjoyed traveling and was a worldwide traveler. The last surviving member of her immediate family; she is survived by a niece; Jan Bitonti of Belle Vernon; a nephew; John Youshock of Belle Vernon; and several nieces and nephews outside of the Mon Valley area. In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by four brothers; John; Albert; Nick and Frank Sivie; and two sisters; Mary Kuchera and Ann Youshock. Mrs. Fedora was a member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Charleroi and was retired from Corning Glass Works Charleroi plant. Survivors include her son; Ronald J. Thomas A. Brown; 80; of Speers Hill; died Tuesday; Nov. 27; 2001; in his home. A son of the late Thomas and Sophia B. Nicholson Brown; he was born Nov. 14; 1921; in Belleville; Ill. He was a member of the Speers United Methodist Church where he was the church historian; head usher and chairman of the trustees. Mr. Brown was also a member of the Charleroi Legion Post 22 and the National VFW Post 15040. A former Allenport councilman; he was active in the 8th Air Force Historical Society and the 8th Air Force Western Pennsylvania Wing. A former scoutmaster; he was a committee chairman for the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Brown attended Charleroi schools and graduated from the Pittsburgh Art Institute. He retired in 1983 from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp; where he was a turn foreman and was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corp; serving with the 339th Fighter Group and as the base photographer. Survivors include his wife of 53 years; Edith M. Bilton Brown; a daughter and son-in-law; Janet Lyn and Kenneth B. Vandermer of Irwin; two sons and daughters-in-law; Thomas Royce and Cheryl Brown of Tampa; Fla.; Robert Franklin and Sandra Brown of Harrisburg; N.C.; six grandchildren; Molly Detwiler and her husband Cris; Christopher Brown and his wife Brenda; Kevin Vandermer and his wife Amy; Jill Palmer and her husband the Rev. Edmund L. Worsheck; 98; of Elizabethtown; formerly of Monessen; passed away Monday; Nov. 26; 2001; in the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown. He was born Nov. 15; 1903; in Reynoldsville; a son of the late Andrew and Constance Nozkiesak Wojtczak. He was Episcopalian by faith. Mr. Worsheck had been employed by Otis Elevators; and was a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge 573; the Shrine; and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Consistory; Valley of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Margaret M. Worsheck. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; Edward R; and his wife; Janet Worsheck.
