Ann (Aunt Annie) Raymond; 89; of Charleroi; died Wednesday; Jan. 2; 2002; in the Thorpe Personal Care Home in Charleroi. She was born July 10; 1912; in Naomi; the daughter of the late Anthony and Marie Jazwa Raymond. Miss Raymond was a member of the Mary; Mother of the Church Parish; the Charleroi Senior Citizens; AARP and the Corning Retirees; all of Charleroi. She was retired from the Corning Glass Works Charleroi Plant. She is survived by a niece and caretaker Carol Mossburg Robison and other nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by a sister; Betty Raymond Mossburg; with whom she made her home; and four brothers; Joe; Frank; Steve and Louis Raymond. Ulah Mae Abbott; 83; of Char House; Charleroi; died Dec. 28; 2001. in Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born July 4; 1918; in Eastman; Ga.; a daughter of the late John Thorpe and Ollie Stanley Thorpe. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Monessen; where she served on the usher board and was a member of the service club. She was an active member of the Mon Valley Branch of the NAACP and the Senior Action Council (SAC). She is survived by one sister; Anna Bertha Thorpe-White of Belle Vernon; one godson; Maurice Jones of Monongahela; a devoted friend; Lonnie McWilliams of Monessen; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; Arthur Abbott; three brothers; John Henry Thorpe; Willie Stanley; and Samuel Thorpe Sr.; and three sisters; Audrelee Thorpe-Smith; Rubertha Stanley and Ollie Mae Thorpe. Neal A. Guadagnino; 87; of Grant Street; North Belle Vernon; died Thursday; Dec. 27; 2001; at 8:05 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Sept. 7; 1914; in Slovan; Pa.; he was a son of the late Frank and Pasqualine Guadagnino. Mr. Guadagnino was a resident of North Belle Vernon for the past 55 years and was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon. Mr. Guadagnino was retired from the former Baur Bros. Bakery; Wonder Baking Co. and Braun Baking Co. in Dunlevy; where he worked as a salesman. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and served as a trustee for Local 485 Bakery Workers Union; Pittsburgh. He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law; Guy and Billie Guadagnino and Frank Jr. and Ruth Guadagnino; all of Pittsburgh; two sisters; Mary Angelelli of Kittanning and Nancy Weber of Anaheim; Calif.; and one brother-in-law; Albert Franceschi of North Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Elsie Franceschi Guadagnino on March 9; 2001; and two brothers; Samuel and Anthony Guadagnino. Hazel V. Makovsky; 80; of Gillespie; Fayette City R.D.; died at her home the morning of Monday; Dec. 24; 2001; after a lengthy illness. She was born July 28; 1921; in Franklin; Md.; the daughter of the late Jess Mann and Alice Wilson. Hazel was a member of the St. Joseph Polish National Catholic Church; Fairhope; Belle Vernon. Surviving is her loving husband of 60 years; Leo A. Makovsky and children; Leo E. Makovsky and wife Pat of Fayette City R.D.; Gary B. Makovsky and wife Charmel of Rostraver Township; and Bernadette Planey and husband Robert of Mt. Joy. Also surviving are two brothers; Jessie Mann of Ellsworth and Ray Sutherland of Hopwood; and one sister; Helen Pizzolo of Lancaster. Hazel and Leo Makovsky had five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
