Anthony V. DiGioia; 71; of Monessen; died Wednesday; Dec. 12; 2001; at his residence. He was born Jan. 19; 1930; in Monessen; a son of the late Santo and Virginia (Nicolosi) DiGioia. He was a 1947 graduate of Monessen High School and was a graduate of Robert Morris College. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and was formerly a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a life member of the Monessen Elks Lodge 773; and was the former director of Valley First Community Federal Credit Union. He retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation; where he was employed as payroll supervisor. He was a veteran of the Korean War; having served with the U.S. Army. A U.S. Army Corp of Engineers veteran of World War II; he was a life member of the former VFW Post 3557 of Belle Vernon. Mr. Crea had lived in Fairhope for over 40 years and was formerly of Fayette City. He retired from U.S. Steel; Irvin Works; in 1989. Helen R. Sivie; 88; died Wednesday; Dec. 5; 2001; at Humbert Lane Health Care Center; Washington. She was born July 29; 1913; in Monessen; a daughter of the late Wasyl and Maria Dobosh Sivie. Miss Sivie recently returned to the Mon Valley after residing in New York for 65 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of New York City and was retired from Gulf Oil Co.; where she worked as a legal secretary. She also enjoyed traveling and was a worldwide traveler. The last surviving member of her immediate family; she is survived by a niece; Jan Bitonti of Belle Vernon; a nephew; John Youshock of Belle Vernon; and several nieces and nephews outside of the Mon Valley area.
