Mrs. Doty was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1947 graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Sloan was born in Old Fort; N.C.; on May 29; 1909; the daughter of the late Benjamin and Maggie Carson Whittington. A homemaker; Mrs. Sloan was a Deaconess at St. Paul Baptist Church; in Donora. She was a church mother and past president of the Deaconess Board; Nurses Board; Missionary Society and the Inspirational Choir. Mrs. Sloan also was a life member of the Star of Bethlehem; Chapter 34. She was preceded in death by her husband; Charles Sloan Sr.; and three sons; Charles Stu Sloan Jr.; Winslow Sloan and David Sloan. Survivors include one daughter; Charlie M. Henry Eller Bush; 94; formerly of Pricedale; passed away Tuesday; May 25; 2004; in Country Care Manor; Fayette City. A son of the late Roddie and Annie Rowe Bush; he was born in Redtown (Belle Vernon) on May 1; 1910. He was a member of the Pricedale Union Church; where he taught Sunday school for many years and had been a trustee. Mr. Bush served on the former Rostraver Township School Board and had officiated high school and league basketball games throughout the Valley. He attended Monessen High School and lettered in track and football. A lifelong resident of Pricedale; Mr. Bush retired from the Somers Mine in Pricedale and from the custodial department of the Belle Vernon Area School District. Survivors include one daughter; J. Arlene Naylor; one son and daughter-in-law; James C. and Camille Bush; all of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren and their spouses; Gregg and Rebecca Naylor; Brian and Deborah Naylor; Brett and Marymargaret Naylor; James and Katherine Bush; Craig and Maureen Bush and Michele and William Knott; and eight great-grandchildren; Aaron; Joseph; Ethan; John; Zachary and Matthew Naylor and Colleen and Kristen Bush. She worked as a cashier for Check’s Furniture Store in Monessen for 14 years and later worked as a teller and platform for PNC Bank in Monessen for 34 years. She is survived by her husband of 48 years; Frank Bruni; three brothers and two sisters-in-law; Silvio and Cleo Angeline of Monessen; Julio and Marian Angeline of Belle Vernon and Romeo Angeline of Monessen; one niece; Mitzi Gatto; one great-niece; Leah Gatto; a great-nephew; Sean Bryant; and by numerous nieces and nephews. A son of the late Frank and Philomena Ruggiero Marasco; be was born in Belle Vernon on Oct. 29; 1916. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; AARP; Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; the 29th Infantry Division Post 92 of Philadelphia; and the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club. Mr. Marasco was the Belle Vernon tax collector from 1950 to 1954 and served for 30 years on the board of the Belle Vernon Municipal Authority; retiring in 1995. He was a construction worker for Local 286 in Brownsville and served in Europe with the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; Marilyn and Edmund Santini of Emerald Isle; N.C.; one sister and brother; Gilda and John Marasco; both of Belle Vernon; and two granddaughters; Shane Santini of Atlanta; Ga.; and Kelly Santini of Wilmington; N.C.
