Curtis Curley Littleton; 76; of North Charleroi; passed away Saturday; April 17; 2004; while in Orlando; Fla. He was born June 10; 1921; to the late Alberta Littleton-Stanley. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from U.S. Steel; where he worked rolling rods and as a crane operator at both the Donora and Duquesne plants. Bruce E. Hill Sr.; 71; of Bedford Heights; Ohio; departed this earth on April 12; 2004. Born March 8; 1933; he was a son of the late George and Hazel Hill. Shortly after high school; Bruce married his high school sweetheart; Bessie Crawly of Monessen. He served as a drill sergeant with the U.S. Army. Bruce went on to graduate from California State University in 1963 with a bachelor’s degree in education; which led him to touch many lives as a teacher; consultant; advisor and mentor. His quest for knowledge led to a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1972. Bruce earned many honors and awards as affirmation; being a Martha Holden Jennings Award recipient; and listed in Who’s Who among American Teachers. He taught for the Cleveland Board of Education for over 30 years before retiring from the profession in 1992 to care for his wife. He leaves to mourn and celebrate his homecoming; his wife Bessie Marie Hill; two daughters and one son; Carmen Rutledge and husband Rick; Belinda Hill; and Bruce Hill and wife Regina; all of Cleveland; Ohio; six grandchildren; Tony; Alicia; Danielle; Jessica; Chelsea and Jada; and one sister and brother; Doris Lawson and George Hill; both of Charleroi. Dorothy Alberta Naylor; 83; of Rostraver Township; died Monday; April 5; 2004; in her home. She was born in Pricedale; on July 21; 1920; the daughter of the late Albert W. and Mary H. (Scrivener) Carnes. Mrs. Naylor attended Rostraver Township schools and graduated in 1938 from Rostraver Junior/Senior High School. She attended and graduated from California State Teacher’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She later received her master’s degree in Special Education. She taught in the Rostraver Township Schools and later for Westmoreland County Intermediate Unit 7. She was a lifetime member of Pricedale Union Church; where she taught Sunday school and served on the Board of Deacons. She was also a member and past officer of the Rostraver Township AARP #3407; was a member and past officer of the Women’s Club of Fellsburg and was a lifetime member of the Retired Pennsylvania School Employees.
