Nancy Elizabeth Betty Evans; 85; formerly of Pricedale; passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord on Sunday; August 23; 2009; in Havencrest Nursing Center. A daughter of the late Elsie Stumpf Vantine and James Vantine Jr.; she was born in Blairsville on April 17; 1924. Betty had been an adult Sunday School teacher in the Calvary Tabernacle Church of Monongahela; and loved studying the Bible. She had resided most of her adult life in Pricedale. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; Judy and Thomas Buchanan; one grandson; Brian Buchanan; all of Belle Vernon; nieces and nephews; David Vantine; Nancy; Tracy; Greg and Matthew Nazelrod; Emory and Linda Nazelrod and Dolores and Tim Clair; and three special sisters-in-law; Margaret Fuch; Emma Jene Lelik; and Isabelle Evans. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Julius Evans on June 6; 1991; and two sisters; Dorothy Clair and Mary Vantine. Her family is grateful for the legacy she left in her strong faith in Jesus Christ and in her love of God’s Word. Her children will rise up and call her blessed. Proverbs 31:28.
