Ruth A. Hammitt Bradley; 65; of Monessen; passed away on Saturday; July 2; 2011; in Haven Crest Nursing Center after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Born in Charleroi on Dec. 2 1945; she was the daughter of the late Herman Edward and Margaret Ann Melarkey Hammitt. Ruth was an avid ballroom dancer and enjoyed bingo and playing cards. She was an extremely devoted mother and friend. Ruth was a Monessen High School Class of 1963 graduate and was Lutheran by faith. Besides her parents; she was preceded in death by her ex-husband and good friend; Robert Bradley. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; Cindy and Larry Pierce; of Charleroi; and Tricia Timko; of Roscoe; four grandchildren; Erica Pierce; Larry John Pierce; Bradley Timko and Morgan Timko; three brothers and sisters-in-law; Robert and Marge Hammitt; of North Charleroi; Norman and Vivian Hammitt; of Monessen; and Thomas and Cathy Hammitt; of New Eagle; a very special friend; Ron Grabiak; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Wednesday; July 6 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.; Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue; Monessen; (724) 684-3700. Ida M. Hawker Fayette City Ida M. Hawker; 89; of Fayette City; passed away Monday; Aug. 6; 2012; in Easy Living Country Estates; Hunker. She was born Jan. 27; 1923; in Pricedale; Pa.; a daughter of the late Benjamin F. Nichols and the late Almeda Peroney Nichols. She was a member of Little Redstone Presbyterian Church; Fayette City. She is survived by two sons; Bruce Hawker and wife; Joyce; of Vanderbilt; and Keith Hawker; of Belle Vernon; daughter; Almeda Beeman; of New Stanton; two brothers; James Nichols and wife; Grace; and Emerson Nichols and wife; Thelma; all of Fayette City; sister; Almeda Sala; of Pleasant Hills; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Raymond Hawker; on Aug. 24; 2000; brother; Norman Nichols; and sister; Adell Hussar.
