EDWARD GUGLIELMI
Edward Guglielmi; 81; of Belle Vernon; went to be with the Lord on Thursday; May 13; 2010; in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Virgil and Ada Vernaccini Guglielmi; he was born in Belle Vernon on May 24; 1928. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; he played sax and clarinet with the Jess Wilson Orchestra at the former Twin Coaches Night Club for over 20 years. Ed started his career teaching at the Bentworth High School and retired in 1990 after 20 years as the Belle Vernon Area High School Band Director. He also served in Korea from Dec. 1950 through Oct. 1952 in the U.S. Army. Survivors include one daughter and son-in- law; Nancy and Tim Pearson; of Findley; Ohio; two sons and one daughter-in-law; Thomas V. Guglielmi of Azle; Texas; and James and Susan Guglielmi; of Monongahela; one sister; Lorraine Waite; of Port St. Lucie; Fla.; five grandchildren; Ryan Grant Pearson; of Walterboro; S.C.; T.J. Pearson; of Oxford; Ill.; Lt. Anthony Pearson; of Schweinfurt; Germany; Stephanie Guglielmi and Rachael Guglielmi; both of Monongahela; one great-granddaughter; Gracie Pearson; of Walterboro; S.C.; and a dear friend; Charmaine Kucherawy; of Stockdale. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Ethel Grazzini Guglielmi; on April 29; 1991; and a sister; Lillian Giovanini. ELNOR M.WASHABAUGH PATTERSON
Elnor M. Patterson; 94; a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon Area; died Wednesday; November 13; 2013 in Paramount Senior Living Center; Pittsburgh. A daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Schmidt Washabaugh; she was born in Pittsburgh on January 3; 1919. Elnor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon where she served as a deacon and was a long time member of the Women’s Association and the H.O.A. class. She also served in her community delivering Meals on Wheels and worked the Food and Fellowship dinners at the First United Methodist Church and the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Wayne E. and Barbara Patterson of Pleasant Hills; one granddaughter; Meghan Sanders and her husband; Skip; one great-grandson; Miles Easton Sanders; all of Pittsburgh and three sisters; Geneva Forsythe; Margaret Trembley and Norma Styche; all of the Mon Valley area. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; Glenn Easton Patterson in 1997. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 P.M. Mary T. Barger; 99; of Lynnwood; passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday; Nov. 30; 2013. A daughter of the late Paul and Katherine Maganetz Turtzer; she was born in Charleroi on Sept. 25; 1914. A member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; she enjoyed playing cards at the Center on the Hill; and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. Survivors include four daughters; Paula (Bob) Beck of Tempe; Ariz.; Mary Lois “Cis” (Joe) Way of Oil City; Nancy Gaydos of Daisytown and Joan (Tom) Nave of Oviedo; Fla.; 11 grandchildren; Robert Beck; Julie Owen; Matt Beck; Renee Quijas; Tracey Way; Amy Adams; Mark Gaydos; Kristen Hedden; Deanne Petrucci; Patrick Nave and Courtney Hyer; and 24 great-grandchildren.
