Eloise Crosby; 95; of Monessen; passed away Wednesday; March 4; 2009; in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Dec. 21; 1913; in Latrobe; a daughter of the late Harry E. and Esther Dunlap Harman. Mrs. Crosby was a beautician for many years; owning and operating her own shop . She attended of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen and was a member of the Latrobe and Mon Valley Art Clubs. Mrs. Crosby enjoyed painting and drawing and was a member of the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Monessen. She also was an avid bowler and card player and had belonged to various leagues and clubs. Surviving are two sons; Dayne R. and wife Joan Crosby of Monessen; and ; Richard and wife Marianne Crosby; of California; three grandsons; Shawn and wife Tara Crosby; Chad Crosby; and Nathan Crosby; two great-grandchildren; Shawn and Kayle Crosby. She was preceded in death by her husband; Richard J. Crosby; and brothers; Jerome Harman and Oliver Harmon; and a sister; Adele Prazitz. Friends will be received noon until 5 p.m.; Sunday; March 8; at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME; INC.; 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Christina A. Ingold officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. George P. Howarth Sr.; 85; of Pricedale; passed away Sunday; Feb. 14; 2010; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Morgan Howarth; he was born April 26; 1924; in Monessen. He had resided in Pricedale since 1933; was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War; and retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company after 38 years of service. Survivors include his wife; Elsie Locke Howarth; with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on Nov. 22; 2009; two sons and daughters-in-law; George P. and Kathleen Musial Howarth; of Monessen; and Jack and Charity Howarth; of Cincinnati; Ohio; one sister; Margaret Lisser; of Jacksonville; and one grandson; Taylor Howarth. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by two brothers; Harry and John Howarth.
