Emma Capella; 83; of Craven Hill; Charleroi; passed away Friday; Sept. 17; 2010; in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Haydu; she was born in Pricedale on March 14; 1927. Emma had resided in Craven Hill since 1958; and retired in 1993 as a nurse; having worked at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital; and the current Monongahela Valley Hospital. Survivors include one sister; Sue Bush; with whom she made her home; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; Arlene Perri; of Shelby Township; Mich.; and Rose Marie and Paul McManus; of Charleroi; 11 nieces and nephews; Steve and Mary Perri; Donna and Pat Witt; Dawn and Tom Strombaugh; all of Michigan; Kevin McManus; of Pittsburgh; Joe Perri; of Michigan; Marci and Todd Klinger; of Charleroi; Brad Perri; Steven Perri; Jessica Witt; Sean Witt and Erin Witt; all of Michigan; and one great-nephew; Dylan Joseph Klinger; of Charleroi. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years; Joseph J. Capella; on March 26; 2001. RUPERT J. MARSHALL
Rupert J. Marshall; 84; of Monessen; passed away Monday; June 16; 2008; in Latrobe Regional Health and Rehab Center. He was born April 1; 1924; in Hawick; Scotland; a son of the late Arthur G. and Renee McGee Marshall. He worked as a plumber for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He was a member of F&AM #638 where he was a past master; B.P.O.E #773; life member of Ukrainian Club; Firemans Club #1; all of Monessen; USS Bennington Association; where he was the founder and president; USS Block Island Reunion Association; and the Belle Vernon American Legion #659. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are daughter; Heather J. Marshall; of Monessen; son; Gordon A. and wife; Heidi L. Marshall; of Rostraver Township; numerous nieces and nephews; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his wife; Jean Marshall. Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC.; a Golden Rule Funeral Home; 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen. Masonic services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday and the Belle Vernon American Legion will conduct services 7 p.m. Wednesday; both in the funeral home. Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Bruce Northey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
