Rose ‘Nunny’ Niccolai; 96; of Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; November 5; 2008 in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Anthony and Maria Pulice Gelotti; she was born in Newell on April 8; 1912. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area; Rose was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and had owned and operated the former Rosina’s Italian Restaurant in Belle Vernon and Sparky’s Restaurant in Monessen. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Robert and Sharon Niccolai of Rostraver Twp.; with whom she made her home; two granddaughters; Beverly Niccolai of Rostraver Twp. and Barbara Clauss; and her husband Brian; of Bowie; MD; one sister; Margaret Mencarelli; one brother and sister-in-law; Alex and Romona Gelotti; all of Belle Vernon and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was precede in death by her husband; Martin Niccolai on July 5; 1978; two sisters; Millie Russo and Jennie DeFazio; both of Monessen and five brothers; Victor Gelotti of Speers; Sam and Mickey Gelotti; both of Belle Vernon; Silver Gelotti of Star Junction and John Gelotti of Gillispie. A blessing service will be in the funeral home Saturday at 9 A.M. followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 A.M. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with Rev. Lawrence Manchas; VF; pastor; as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 3 P.M. led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.

Mitchell J. Savich; 93; of Fallowfield Township; died Sunday; August 10; 2008 in Humbert Lane Nursing Center; Washington; Pa. He was born September 28; 1914 in Yugoslavia; the son of the late Yoksim and Zora Savich. Surviving are two daughters; Mary Blazevich; of Fallowfield Township; and Nancy Hutchison; of West Alexander; two sons; Peter Savich and Mitchell Savich Jr.; both of Washington; two grandchildren; Valerie and Janice Hutchison; and one great-grandchild; Graclyn Paige Myers. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Elizabeth Savich. There will be no visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME; Charleroi.
