Donald S. Roberts; 81; of Fallowfield Township; died peacefully surrounded by his family Monday; June 15; 2009; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born Oct. 31; 1927; in Elco; a son of the late Thomas and Rose Smith Roberts. Mr. Roberts served in the Army/Air Force in Korea and was a retired coal miner working 35 years for the Republic Steel Banning Mines. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and attended the Pennsylvania State Fishing Tournament in Tidioute; every year since the tournament began. He was a member of the Centerville Sportsman Assoc.; the Brownsville Hunting Club and the UMWA District 5. He is survived by his wife; Mildred Bonnell Roberts; two sons; Donald S. Roberts of California; and Gregory W. Roberts of Concord; Calif.; a daughter-in-law Debbie Roberts of Richeyville; two grandsons; Fred (Shawna) Roberts of Richeyville and Nick (Ashley) Roberts of West Palm Beach; Fla.; a great-granddaughter; Jillian Roberts; and a brother; Jack Roberts of West Newton. In addition to his parents; Mr. Roberts is preceded in death by three sisters and eight brothers. Ruth May Quinn; 88; of Charleroi; died Thursday; Sept. 15; 2011; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born June 20; 1923; in Columbus; Ohio; a daughter of the late Daniel and Rose Orr Balogh. Mrs. Quinn was a devoted wife; loving mother; grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed time with her family; loved traveling and enjoyed going to the casino. Surviving is her son; Doug Quinn and his wife; Pat; of The Villages; Fla.; her sisters; Betty Barton and Carol Balogh; both of Charleroi; and her brother; Frank Balogh and his wife; Marge; of Charleroi. On Friday; June 5; 2009; Ray O. (Bussy) Parker Sr.; 68; of Arnold City; died at Monongahela Valley Hospital after a brief illness. Born on May 26; 1941; in Lemont Furnace; he was the son of the late Rose and William Parker. He attended North Union Township public school and graduated from North Union High School in 1969. Ray entered the workforce at a local drug store before starting a 36-year-long career in the steel industry at U.S. Steel Clairton Works until his retirement in 2006. He was employed by Beverly Draper Funeral Home and was a long-time member of the Elks Lodge No. 697 in Monessen. In addition to his parents; Ray was preceded in death by two brothers; Ed and Frank Parker; and one sister; Mary Tom Shellar. Ray is survived by his wife of 45 years; Sonia Parker; three sons; Philip (MaryBeth) Parker of Smyma; D.
