A son of Violet Zapora Zuro; who survives and resides in Greensburg; and the late John Zuro; he was born in Monongahela on Sept. 27; 1954. A resident of Belle Vernon most of his adult life; he was a member of the Orchard Christian Fellowship of Monessen. He had been employed for 37 years at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company and loved working on vintage cars with his son Paul. Ronald W. Cook; 68; of Jacksonville; Fla.; formerly of Belle Vernon; died Friday; Dec. 4; 2009; at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonsville. Born April 15; 1941; he served 27 years in the U.S. Army. After retiring; he then drove for handicap children in Belle Vernon; while caring for his mother. He then joined his immediate family living in Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother; Edith L. Cook; and his father; Earle Y. Cook Sr. He is survived by his wife; Laura (Altomari); and son; Angelo and wife Tina of Houston; Texas; and his daughter Gail of Jacksonville; his grandson Avery; also of Houston; three brothers; Earle Jr. and wife Suzanne of Summerfield; Fla.; the Rev. David L. Cook of Belle Vernon; and Gary and wife Pamela of the state of Washington; along with many nieces and nephews. Earl W. Peters; 90; of Waynesburg; formerly of Sutersville; passed away Tuesday; December 15; 2009 in Waynesburg. A son of the late Earl C. and Margaret White Peters; he was born in Sutersville on June 11; 1919. Formerly of Sutersville; he had resided in Waynesburg for the past eight years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II; he was captured during the Battle of the Bulge and was a P.O.W. Earl retired in 1982 from the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad working in the Newell yard as a car repair general foreman. He loved woodworking and helped furnish his childrenÂ’s homes.
