Shawn Weightman; 47; of Oil City; passed away Saturday; Dec. 19; 2009. He was born in North Charleroi on Oct. 27; 1962; the beloved son of the late William H. Weightman Sr. and Ardith L. Keslar Weightman; who survives and resides in Belle Vernon. Earl W. Peters; 90; of Waynesburg; formerly of Sutersville; passed away Tuesday; December 15; 2009 in Waynesburg. A son of the late Earl C. and Margaret White Peters; he was born in Sutersville on June 11; 1919. Formerly of Sutersville; he had resided in Waynesburg for the past eight years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II; he was captured during the Battle of the Bulge and was a P.O.W. Earl retired in 1982 from the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad working in the Newell yard as a car repair general foreman. He loved woodworking and helped furnish his childrenÂ’s homes. Survivors include his wife of 40 years; Elma Gelotti Peters; one daughter and son-in-law; Sandy and Rod Funk of Aurora; OH; two sons and daughters-in-law; Earl R. and Chris Peters of Hereford and Samuel and Denise McLaughlin of Waynesburg; three grandchildren; Samuel McLaughlin and wife Samantha; Andrew McLaughlin; all of Waynesburg and Nathan Funk of Aurora; OH and one great-granddaughter; Kaylee Jo McLaughlin of Waynesburg. A daughter of Betty Hepple Aldridge; who survives and resides in N. Charleroi; and the late Theodore Aldridge; she was born in Monessen on March 31; 1948. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monongahela; and had previously resided in Monessen. Survivors; in addition to her mother; include her husband of 36 years; John J. William M. Styche; 87; of North Charleroi; went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday; May 15; at Mon Valley Hospital. He was born on July 23; 1924; in Van Voorhis; the son of the late William G. and Lilly (Davenport) Styche. He was a graduate of Monongahela High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; having served on both the Atlantic and Pacific fronts. He was married to Norma L. (Washabaugh) Styche for over 65 years. He worked for Bell of Pennsylvania for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church of North Charleroi. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his vacation trailer in the Somerset area. Surviving are a son; William A. Styche and wife; Alexis; of Charleroi; a daughter; Carol L. Niblette and husband; William; of Lancaster; Pa.; three grandchildren; William Niblette of Hartford; Tenn.; Abby Sharp and husband; Christopher; of Lititz; Pa.; W. Logan Styche; of Charleroi; and one great-grandson; Aiden Sharp; of Lititz. He was also predeceased by a sister; Edna Mae Patterson.
