She was born in N.Charleroi;on September 14;1948;the daughter of Lilas (Rohland) Turcaso of Monessen;and the late Anthony Turcaso. Ruthann was a life long resident of Monessen;a 1966 graduate of Monessen High School;and a member of St.Paul’s Lutheran Church in Monessen. She was a devoted wife;mother;and grandmother;who loved to bake and spend time with her family. In addition to her mother;she is survived by her husband of 40 years;John E.Kerestesi;two sons and daughters-in-law;John C.and Kristin Kerestesi of Monessen;Joshua C. and Nicole Kerestesi of Mt.Lebanon;three grandchildren;Paige;Chole;and Canaan Kerestesi;a brother and sister-in-law;George and Patricia Latta of Delaware City;DE;and by nieces and nephews. In addition to her father;she was preceded in death by a brother;Raymond Latta. Visitation and funeral services are private. She will be laid to rest in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Janet M. Misenko; 59; of Tarpon Springs; Fla.; died Sunday; Jan. 3; 2010; peacefully; going home to be with her Lord at Tarpon Bayou Center; Tarpon Springs. Born Sept. 26; 1950; in North Charleroi; she was the daughter of Edward R. and Betty E. Albright Misenko; who survive and reside in Belle Vernon. A resident of Tarpon Springs for the past 22 years; Janet was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church prior to moving to Florida. She was a restaurant owner and an avid Steelers fan who loved and enjoyed her niece and nephews and was liked by all her friends and caregivers at the nursing home; where she resided for the past three years. In addition to her parents; she is survived by two sisters and brother-in-law; Kathryn Myers; of Belle Vernon and Carol and Pete Mazzei; of Belle Vernon; niece; Megan Myers; of Belle Vernon; two nephews; Chad and Aaron Mazzei; of Glenwood Springs; Colo. Samuel DeSimone; 89; of Houston; Texas; formerly of Belle Vernon; went to be with the Lord on Sunday; Dec. 27; 2009. A son of the late Joseph and Mary Nicoletti DeSimone; he was born in Belle Vernon on July 21;1920. Sam was a proud member of the Belle Vernon High School football team and was named All County several years. A U.S. Navy veteran; he served on a P.T. boat from 1943 to 1945 and had played in the Belle Vernon Drum and Bugle Corp. He had served as secretary of the school board of the North Versailles School District. Formerly of Belle Vernon; he had resided in Texas since 1986; resided in Florida for the previous seven years and had also resided in Versailles Borough and Green Valley. He was a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church of Houston and the East Pittsburgh V.F.W. Sam retired in 1979 after 39 years with Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh. Survivors include his wife of 47 years; Jane Simcic DeSimone; two daughters and sons-in-law; Kathleen and Don Gillespie of Monongahela and Elizabeth and John Guy of West Newton; three sons and two daughters-in-law; Thomas and Stephanie DeSimone of Aliquippa; Ronald and Robin DeSimone and Donald DeSimone; all of Bellaire; Texas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Myrtle Sanderson Johnston; 91; of North Belle Vernon; died Monday; Dec. 28; 2009; at Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh; Greensburg. Born July 16; 1918; in North Belle Vernon; she was the daughter of the late William and Augusta Westburg Sanderson. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Mrs. Johnston was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon; where she was an Elder; Deacon and Sunday School Teacher; a member of the Monongahela Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 108 (formerly the Belle Vernon Chapter 196) for over 50 years; serving as treasurer; worthy matron and district deputy. Myrtle was a retired; self-employed beautician and served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; Linda and Fred Aten of Belle Vernon; Nancy Johnston of Youngwood; three grandchildren; Susan Aten of Belle Vernon; Robert and wife Lisa Aten of Pittsburgh; Natalie Johnston of Youngwood; three great-grandchildren; Madison; Olivia and Spencer Aten; and her constant companion; Honey. She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert M. Johnston; on Sept. 2; 1997; three brothers; Guy; Edward and William Sanderson; and a sister; Margaret Sanderson.
