Scott R. Wood; 43; of Belle Vernon; formerly of Greensburg; died Tuesday; July 20; 2010; in Excela Westmoreland Hospital; Greensburg. He was born June 25; 1967; in Plattsburg; N.Y.; a son of Charles R. and Becky L. Harden Wood; of Greensburg. He was a 1986 graduate of Greater Latrobe High School and Eastern Westmoreland Vo-Tech and then attended Vale Tech in Blairsville. Scott had previously been employed by Sears Automotive and NTB; both in Greensburg; and was currently employed as the mechanic at Westmoreland Triumph Sales of Greensburg; Mt. Pleasant Road. Scott was well-known for his love of riding his Moto-Guzzi with friends and participating in bike runs and related events. Scott was predeceased by an infant son; Elijah O. Wood; in 1997. In addition to his parents; he is survived by two sisters; Susan L. Eutsey and her husband; Scott; of Indian Head; and Michelle L. Horner and her husband; Ben; of Latrobe; a stepdaughter; Rachel Eyles; of Irwin; and the following nieces and nephews; Ashley Lynn and Aimee Ann Eutsey and Robert Owen; Sara Michelle and Shannon Michelle Demine. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME INC.; 505 E. Pittsburgh St.; Greensburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Revs. Don Graff; Doug Nolt and Ed Mikkelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery; Belle Vernon.

W. B. CLYMER DEAD.
One of Monessen’s Leading Citizens
Passes Away.
W. B. Clymer; a prominent contractor
of this city; who has been battling for
life for the past three weeks with a
severe attack of typhoid fever; succumbed
to the ravages of that dread disease at his
home on Reed avenue; this morning at
12:30 o’clock. Mr. Clymer was in the
33rd year of his age and leaves a wife
and four children; besides a mother;
brother and four children to mourn their
loss.
He was born and raised in Garardford;
Green county; where he spent most of
his life until coming to this city three
years ago.
On October 21; 1891 he was happily
united in marriage to Miss Gerty Mauer;
to which union there was added four
children; Russell; aged 10 years past;
Raymond; aged 8; Blanche; aged 5 and
Alma; aged 2 years. Mr. Clymer had a
host of friends and was well and favorably
known. He was prominent in
lodge circles and a member of Monessen lodge; Royal Arcanum; in which he
carried insurance.
The sympathy; of the community is extended
to the family and Mrs. Clymer in
their sad bereavement.
Funeral services will take place from
his late home at 11 o’clock a. m. Thursday;
interment at Belle Vernon cemetery. The funeral of W. B. Clymer this
morning was largely attended. Relatives
and friends were many; and the
Royal Arcanum; of which the deceased
was a prominent member; were out in
full numbers. The services were held at
the family residence; Rev. J. W. Moner
of the U. B. church officiating. Many
floral tributes were in evidence; among
them being a floral pillow bearing the
name of the order in its center.
Mr. Clymer was a man of sterling character;
well liked by all and prepared for
his family after death as well as before.
He was insured in the N. Y. Life and
Roval Arcanum.

Ruth Elizabeth Ellis;79;of Donora;departed this life peacefully on Thursday;July 1;2010;in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born Jan.17;1931;in Donora;daughter of the late James and Alberta Thomas Ellis. She was a retired elementary school teacher in the Ringgold school system. She received her teaching certificate frim the California State Teacher’s College of Pennsylvania;and was a member of the Donora Senior Citizens of Monongahela. She was a former member of First Baptist Church;of Donora. Surviving are her son;Derrick E.Ellis;of San Antonia;Texas;two grandchildren;Jordan and Ryder;sisters;Mary Harris of Garnerville;N.Y.;and Marie Gardner;of Donora;brother;George Ellis;of Donora;nieces;nephews;cousins;other relatives and many friends. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m.;Thursday;July 8;at the First Baptist Church;541 Allen Ave.;Donora;where services will be held Friday;July 9;at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Eric Johsnon officiating. William;infant child of Mr.and Mrs.W.Piisila;aged 2 weeks and 2 days;died Tuesday morning;November 11;1902. The little body was laid to rest in the Belle Vernon Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon;November 12;1902.

Mrs.Samuel Shepler died Wednesday morning at 8 o’clock;at her home in Shepler after a brief illness. She was born January 29;1841. On July 1;1874 she was married to Samuel Shepler and to them two sons were born;of whom one survives. Mrs.Shepler has been a member of the Methodist church since she was fourteen years of age and for a large part of the time was an ernest worker in Bible-school work. Her life was such as to win the highest respect and confidence of all who knew her;and she will be sorely missed. The funeral services were conducted by Rev.C.E.Smith;pastor of the Christian church. The remains were interred yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock in Belle Vernon cemetery.

Anita (Annetta) Fisher; 73; of Speers Hill; went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday; June 29; 2010; after a year-long battle with lung cancer. She was born Aug. 24; 1936 in Glenshaw; a daughter of the late James and Ella Ellis Hixenbaugh. Mrs. Fisher was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Charlerol. She was a CNA by profession; and a beloved mother to all of her children. She is survived by three sons and three daughters; Joseph Axton; of California; James (Lisa) Axton; of Monessen; Jack Fisher; of Georgia; Donna Kopecek; of Charleroi; Rosemarie Fisher-Easel; of Speers Hill; and Annamae (John) Fisher-Kachursky; of Sharon; 11 grandchildren; Nichole Sickels-Crisi; Robert (Crystal) Sickels; Jayme Kopecek; Kristy (Dave) Telegraphis; Melanie (Russ) Sanner; Michael (Mairim) Basel; Anthony Basel; Jordan Basel; Alan Basel; Jessica (Paul) Senger and Julie Skaine; 12 great-grandchildren; Brittany and Ashley Crisi; James; Thomas and Spencer Sickels; Bunter and Madeline Telegaphis; David; Sara and Emily Sanner; Elijah Reines and Eric Basel; one great-great-granddaughter Bella Rose Dalfonso. She is also survived by her siblings; James (Doris) Hixenbaugh; of Texas; Pauline Rhoden; of Florida; Esther Forsythe; of Charleroi; Michael Hixenbaugh; of South Carolina; Michael (Donna) Hixenbaugh; of Perryopolis; Richard Hixenbaugh; of Elco; James (Cindy) Hixenbaugh; of Perryopolis; and a sister-in-law; Rosemarie Hixenbaugh; of Ohio. In addition to her parents; Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Anita Basel; and the following siblings; William Hixenbaugh; Jack Hixenbaugh; Anna Bryant; Edna Mae Hixenbaugh; Linda Hixenbaugh; Mary Lou McGill; and Janet Hixenbaugh.
