Ruby Draper-McCraw; 98; of Rostraver Township; formerly of Monessen; was called to glory Saturday; Aug. 21; 2010; in the Cherry Tree Nursing Center in Uniontown. Born in Monessen; Sept. 26; 1911; she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Stamper Draper. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Harry K. McCraw; two daughters; Marilyn McCraw-Simpson and Harrietta McCraw-Bailey; one brother; Beverly C. Draper Sr.; and one sister; Dundeenah Draper. Ruby was a 1929 graduate of Monessen High School; a faithful and devoted member of the Union Baptist Church; where she served as Sunday School secretary and teacher; pianist; and president of the Senior Missionary Society in the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association. She served as president of the Junior Convention; president of the Women’s Home and Foreign Mission Convention; a past president of the Pennsylvania State Convention Women’s Auxiliary; and was active in the Lott Carey Convention. In recent years; Ruby was a regular attendee at the Acorn Adult Day Center in Monessen. Leaving to cherish her memory are one daughter; Carolyn (Alphonse) Carter; three grandaughters; Shelley (Robert) Ramsey; of Rostraver; with whom she made her home; Sharon Bailey; of Houston; Texas; and Dr. Cynthia Carter; of Boston; one grandson; Dale (Michele) Simpson; of Monessen; two great-grandsons; Robert R. Ramsey; of Pittsburgh; and Zachary Lyncee; of Boston; four great-grandaughters; Julee Bailey; of Houston Texas; Shaina Ramsey; of Pittsburgh; Selene and Soleil Simpson; of Monessen; and many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday; Aug. 25; from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Baptist Church; 670 McMahon Ave.; Monessen; followed by funeral services with the Rev. Wanda F. Atkinson; 82; of North Belle Vernon; passed away Sunday; May 20; 2012; in Westmoreland Manor; after an extended stay. A daughter of the late William and Irene Sterner Davis; she was born in Belle Vernon on Aug. 18; 1929. Protestant by faith; Wanda had been a lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon. She was a former employee of the Hill’s and Kmart Department stores. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Mrs. Luzanski was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; John and Kelly Luzanski; of North Belle Vernon; a daughter; Mary Ann Luzanski; of North Belle Vernon; a brother; Joseph Frantz; of Charleroi; and two sisters and brother-in-law; Bernice and Frank Petrarca; of Bridgeville; and Sister Angeline; of Belleview. George W. Stark; 74; a longtime resident of Zanesville; Ohio; died early on April 1; 2011; from complications of a long-term illness. Unfortunately he lost a tough battle; but passed away pain-free and peacefully while being accompanied by his loving wife of more than 47 years; Marilee (Ceccarelli) Stark. George was born on July 25; 1936; in Charleroi; a son to late parents George and Harriet Stark. He had one brother; Jack (deceased) and a surviving sister-in-law; Sally Stark; of Belle Vernon. He retired after 25 years of dedicated service at Cooper Industries. Always wanting to keep busy and active; he followed that career by working at 5 B’s and Kroger Fuel Center in Zanesville. In addition to his wife; George leaves behind his son; Greg; and daughter-in-law; Rose; and three grandchildren; Jake; Ellie and Wyatt. They all affectionately called him Pap Pap. Greg and his family reside in Clarksville; Md. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 505; and was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Parish. During his days in Pennsylvania; he was a volunteer with the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. George became involved in youth sports while following his son; Greg; through many seasons of football; baseball and basketball. A Steelers football fan for much of his life; after moving to Ohio in the late ’60s; he became a passionate Buckeye and Zanesville Blue Devil fan. Following his son’s graduation from Zanesville High School; George became the boys’ basketball official scorekeeper. The highlight of this endeavor came in 1995; when the team won the State Championship. The loving and excellent care provided by Willow Haven Care Center; in addition to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care; gave him the ultimate respect and dignity during his eight-month stay; but especially in his final hours for which his family is extremely grateful.
