Sasha A. Zuro; 26; of Belle Vernon (Washington Township); died Sunday; Jan. 27; 2008; as a result of injuries sustained in a fire at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. A daughter of Robert D. and Mila E. Kupirovich Zuro; Sasha was born in Carroll Township on May 10; 1981. She was a member of the Orchard Christian Fellowship Church in Monessen and was a 1999 graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School; where she excelled in basketball with over 1;000 career points; and in softball. Pearl Hamer Stewart; 93; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Thursday; March 17; 2011; at 5:59 p.m. in her home. Born Dec. 15; 1917; in Belle Vernon; she was the daughter of the late Robert and Thora Trew Hamer. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church and the church missionary society. She was retired from the intermediate unit at California University and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. He was born June 4; 1938 in Brownsville; Pa.; Son of the late Andrew Komperda and the late Anna Marie Sabick Komperda. Ray was a banker for 30 years and financial advisor for Dr. Mahalingappa until 1995. He was an avid sports buff of all sports and No. 1 Steelers fan. He was a member of the Fayette City/Washington Twp Lions Club and Charleroi Rotary Club.
