James L. Webb; 69; of North Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; Nov. 16; 2010; at his home. Born Aug. 14; 1941; in Roscoe; he was the son of the late James L. and Helen (Bednar) Webb. A resident of North Belle Vernon; Mr. Webb was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon. James graduated from Fenn College (Cleveland State University) with a degree in mechanical/design engineering. He worked at PPG Cresline; Ohio; where he obtained a United States Patent in 1968; Combustion Engineering; in Floreffe; until its closure; Penn Mould; Washington; Pa.; for 20 years; Lenox Glass; Mt. Pleasant; until its closure; and retired in 2009 from Chestnut Ridge Foam; in Latrobe. He enjoyed trips to casinos; visiting his grandchildren and seeing his grandson play hockey; watching his granddaughter at cheerleading and watching Penguins hockey. A special thank you to Greg Houston and Howard Irwin for all their help during this difficult time. He is survived by his wife; Karen (Patrick) Webb; to whom he was married 46 years; two daughters and son-in-law; Catherine and Christopher Cozzan; of Sewell; N.J.; Jaime Webb Irwin; at home; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Richard and Barbara Webb; of Roscoe; Robert and Susan Webb; of Madison; Wisc.; three sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; Connie and Donald Houston; Johnnie K. Petrick and Leola Marske; two grandchildren; Christopher James Cozzan and Amelie Marie Cozzan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Monsignor Roger A. James L. Jim Carson; 83; of Chicago; was called by the Lord to be with the angels on Tuesday; Oct. 12; 2010; in his Chicago home. Jim was born Feb. 13; 1927; in Pricedale; the son of the late Evelyn Jones and Elliott Finley Carson Sr. A Rostraver High School graduate; Jim worked in the coal mines in Bentleyville. Jim also played baseball all around the Mon Valley Arae; and was a faithful member of Pleasant Green A.M.E. in Pricedale. Jim moved to Chicago and was employed by the Belt Railway for over 30 years before retiring. While in Chicago; Jim played ball for the Celtics; and was a member of the John Jones Lodge No. 7 P.H.A. After baseball; Jim found the game of golf; which he loved and was a member of the Chicago Executive Golf Club. Jim was loved by many people. He was known for telling stories about Pricedale; and was always straight up with people. He would tell it like it is and wanted people to be up front with him. Jim is survived by his daughter; Linda M. Carson; of Chicago; his son; James E. Carson (Tahndrea); of Chicago; his stepson; DeWayne Holbrook; of Country Club Hills; Ill.; his sister; Ida Gordan; four grandchildren; Keith L. Carson Sr.; of San Bernardino; Calif.; Deanna Jones; Denise Hardison and Deon Carson Sr.; all of Texas; 16 great-grandchildern; his sister-in-law; Izora Carson; four nieces; Evelyn Gordon; MaryBeth Parker; Marsha L. Carson and Marilyn J. Carson; one great-nephew; Keshaun Scott; a friend and companion; Fauline Wesby; and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to his parents; Jim was preceded in death by three brothers; John; Floyd; and Elliott Finley Carson Jr. Friends will be received on Tuesday; Oct. 19; from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church; Henry Street; Belle Vernon.
