Kim Smith; 54; of Erie; formerly of Monessen; passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday; Aug. 2; 2011; at Hamot Medical Center in Erie. Born Oct.18; 1956; in Charleroi; he was the son of Frances Mills-Smith of Monessen; who survives; and the late Albert Skeets Smith. In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by three brothers; Lawrence Bunny Smith; William Robert Smith and Al Pee Wee Smith. In addition to his mother; he is survived by six sisters; Ethel (Jim) Smith-Diffendal of Bethel Park; Ruth Smith-Cheatham and Marie (Mack) Smith-Braswell both of Waldorf; Md.; Tina Smith-Bleich of Monessen; Iris Smith-Madison of Pittsburgh and Dyra Smith of Donora; two brothers; Alfred Smith of Monongahela and Peck Smith of Belle Vernon; one uncle; Melvin Mills and one aunt; Dorothy Linton; both of Uniontown; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Mildred Shrum; 87; of California; passed away unexpectedly in her residence on Monday; Aug.1; 2011. Born on April 10; 1924; in Belle Vernon; she was a daughter of the late Mike and Anna Puhac Zlatovich. Mildred always enjoyed playing cards and; for many years; worked at California University of Pennsylvania as a custodian; but was more known for working at the voting polls on Election Day for over 40 years. Jeannette Lynn Ann Belczyk; 18; of Granby; Colo.; passed away Thursday; June 6; 2002; as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born May 21; 1984; in Greeley; Colo.; the daughter of Barry Belczyk of Granby; Colo.; formerly of Belle Vernon; and Susan Brewer of Phoenix; Ariz. Jenny graduated from Middle Park High School in Granby on May 25; 2002; and had enlisted in the United States Air Force; where she would have begun basic training in August. While in high school; Jenny was an active member of the yearbook staff; the volleyball and track teams; and was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students – Sports Edition as a result of her accomplishments on the volleyball court and track field. She also enjoyed nature and loved animals. She was an active member of the Young Life Christian Association. In addition to her parents; Jenny is survived by her paternal grandparents; Jack and Helen Belczyk of Belle Vernon; and several aunts; uncles and cousins in the Mon Valley area. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Walter and Doris Apel. A memorial service was held and attended by approximately 500 family members and friends on June 11; 2002; in the Silver Creek Convention Center in Granby. She was born October 26; 1923 in Belle Vernon; a daughter of Fiore and Mary Pacelli Silvania.
Formerly of Bentleyville; Mrs. Yemiola was a member of Ave Maria Parish and the Bentworth Senior Citizens Center.
Surviving are a daughter; Kris Owons and a son; Frank T. Yowonske; Jr.; both of Big Pine Key; Florida; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and her dear cousin Rose.
Deceased are her first husband; Frank T. Yowonske; her second husband; Frank Yemiola; Jr.; a daughter; Linda Yowonske Danilchak; two brothers; John Silvania and Phill Silvania; a sister Rose and four half-brothers.
