Roberta M. Radziwon; 66; of Carroll Township; formerly of Belle Vernon; passed away on Thursday; Sept. 20; 2012. A daughter of the late David and Mildred Pasini Wince; she was born in North Charleroi on July 31; 1946. Roberta was Protestant by faith. She was a member of the Belle Vernon Russian Club and Belle Vernon Moose. Roberta had worked as a caregiver at Residence at the Hilltop. Survivors include her husband of 29 years; Barry L. Richard E. Mollard; 85; of Green Valley; Ariz.; died Sunday; July 22; 2012. Born Jan. 9; 1927; he was the son of the late Emanuel and Mary Kiefer Mollard. He was a veteran of World War II; having served in the U.S. Navy; participating in the Battle of Midway and Okinawa. He worked in electronics for the FAA in Longmont; Colo.; retiring in 1992. Richard loved golf and traveling with his wife; usually to national parks; collecting western art and American Indian pottery. He was a humanitarian; donating to the Humane Society and other animal rights organizations. He is survived by a brother; Earl Mollard of Washington Twp.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife; Jean Renaud Mollard; two sisters; Shirley Halinka-Fugo and Norma Hussar; and two brothers; Fred Mollard and Herbert Mollard. Henry Snyder Coughenour died in Belle Vernon;July 18;1900;aged 83 years.  Mr.Coughenour was born near Mt.Pleasant;Pa.;and was married to Miss Caroline Conkle at West Newton;Pa;in 1847(?).  They moved to Monongahela and from that place came to Belle Vernon some years ago.  Soon after his marriage he joined the Lodge of L.O.O.F.at Monongahela;and had been a member for over 50 years.  In his early life he joined the Lutheran Church.  Three children survive him;his wife having died several years ago.  The children are;Mr.William Coughenour;of Payette;Idaho;Mrs.Anna McClure and Miss S.E.Coughenour of Belle Vernon.  Interment on July 20;1900.

Derrick Van Jones; son of the late Haywood Cleon Jones II; and Vivian Jones Mills; was born on April 5; 1950; in Monessen. He quietly departed this life on Saturday; May 5; 2012; at his residence in Upper Marlboro; Md. Derrick was the younger of two children. At an early age; he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior. Derrick was educated in the Pennsylvania Public School system and graduated from Monessen High School. He then attended California State College in California; Pa.; where he played football and earned his degree in 1974. Upon college graduation; Derrick moved to Maryland and began teaching at Northern Middle School in Calvert County. He taught English; social studies; reading; industrial arts and physical education. In addition to teaching; he also coached football; boys’ basketball and track. In 2007; after 33 years of teaching; Derrick retired from the Calvert County Public School system. Derrick; also known as Brute; loved teaching; traveling and especially watching General Hospital; Spartacus and True Blood. He was an all around type of guy and loved the Black and Gold – the Pittsburgh Steelers. Every year as a volunteer; he would participate as a Counselor for Cadets with the Southern Maryland Junior Police Academy summer program. Derrick will be sadly missed by all. But; he will never be forgotten!
