Margaret Armentrout;92;of Rostraver Township;died Monday;Feb.9;1998;in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Feb.3;1906;in Belle Vernon;she was the daughter of the late David and Melvina Ammon Harvey. Mrs.Armentrout spent most of her life in Rostraver Township and was a member of the Char-Belle Free Methodist Church in Belle Vernon. She received a two-year certificiate from California Normal School and taught for 26 years in the Monessen School District. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;James Edward Armentrout;in 1986;a son James Armentrout;in 1966;a brother;Harry E.Harvey;in 1972;and two sisters;Ruth Harvey in 1967 and Gladys Hendrick in 1983. Surviving are two nieces;Mrs.Wilson Harbage of Marysville;Tenn.;and Mrs.William (Betty) Schertle of Encino;Calif. Born in Roscoe on Jan.1;1918;she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Olcian Skibo. Mrs.Alessio lived in Belle Vernon for over 60 years;where she was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Domenick (Koke) Alessio on April 15;1992. Robert C.Ammon;80;of Belle Vernon R.D.1 (Fellsburg);died Wednesday;March 12;1997;in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Jan.27;1917;in Donora;he was the son of the late Cornelius and Helen Ferguson Ammon. Mr.Ammon was retired from USX;Donora;and the Westmoreland Water Authority. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II. He was a member and a past treasurer of Fells United Methodist Church. He was also past president of the Lebanon School PTA;a member of Rostraver AARP and was active in the Boy Scouts.
