Mary E. Babich; 88; of Fayette City R.D. 1; died Thursday;
July 11;1996; in the University
of Pittsburgh Medical Center;
South Side; following a lengthy
illness.
Born June 29; 1908; in Whitsett; she was the daughter of the
late Joseph and Anna Koval
Stayer.
Mrs. Babich was a member of
Holy Spirit Roman Catholic
Church; Fayette City.
In addition to her parents;
she was preceded in death by
her husband; John Babich; a
daughter; JoAnna Babich in
1992; and an infant son; James
Babich; in 1939.
Surviving are one daughter
and son-in-law; Mary Elizabeth
and Richard Marcini of Charleroi; four sons; John Babich Jr.
of Eighty Four; Steve Babich of
Hollywood; Fla.; and Richard
and Daniel Babich; both of
Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; two
sister; Anna Stayer of Fayette
City R.D. 1 and Margaret Krempasky of Warren; Ohio.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
and Saturday until 9:30 a.m. in
the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Richard E. Mackiewicz as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home.

Charles Bezego Jr.; 76; of
Fayette City R.D. 1 (Brownstown); died Sunday; April 21;
1996; at home after a short
illness.
He was born in Fayette City
Dec. 23; 1919; a son of the late
Charles Sr. and Mary Oneufer
Bezego.
Mr. Bezego was a member of
the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon.
A retired steel mill worker; he
had worked in the Wheeling
Pittsburgh Steel Company at
the Alleriport Plant.
He was a veteran of World
War II; having served with the
18th Infantry 45th Division as
sergeant. He served in AlgeriaFrench Morocco; Tunisia; Sicily
and took part in the invasion at
Normandy where he received
the bronze star and the purple
heart for his wounds.
Surviving are his wife;
Catherine Arrow Bezego; three
sons; Charles J Bezego of Hopwood; John R. Bezego of Garden
Grove; Calif.; and William J. Bezego of Penn Hills; and two sisters; Mrs. Frank (Helen) Kostelac of Fairhope; Belle Vernon;
and Mrs. John (Anna) Simmons
of Fayette City R.D.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by a sister; Mary Komacko.
Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. Friends and relatives will meet at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Belle Vernon;on Wednesday;where a Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m.with the Rev.Father John J.Kluchko as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Belle Vernon. A Parastas service will be held Tuesday in the funeral home at 8 p.m. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Marshall J.Brighenti;59;of Belle Vernon;died Monday;April 8;1996;in South Hills Health System;Jefferson Hospital. Born May 8;1936;in Monessen;he was a son of the late Angelo and Mary Fabian Brighenti. He was a member of St.Paul Episcopal Church of Monongahela and had served on the vestry of St.Mary Episcopal Church of Charleroi. Mr.Brighenti had been employed with the U.S.Government’s Mine Safety and Health Administration. He was one of 15 founding members of an organization known as the Civil War Veterans Historical Association where he had served as secretary and published its newsletter for many years. The organization is now nationwide with well over 300 members. Mr.Brighenti was one of the nation’s foremost experts on the subject of the Grand Army of the Republic and a most knowledgeable historian on the local Ringgold Cavalry. He had been acknowledged in numerous books by various authors on his vast knowledge of the Civil War. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a sister;Loraine Kurylo. Survivors include his wife;Julieann Gresh Brighenti;a stepdaughter;Gina Mann;and two grandchildren;Stephanie and Nicholas. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen where a prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by services at 10 a.m. in St.Paul Baptist Church;in Monongahela. Born Aug.4;1915;in Carnegie;she was a daughter of the late Philip and Mary Rycz Kosevsky. Mrs.Bilsky was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon;and the PNA Lodge of Arnold City. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;John R.(Bill) Bilsky;on Sept.29;1974;and a brother;Bernard Kosevsky.
