Steel Co.; Monessen Plant.
Surviving are a son; William
J. Bond of Lexington; Ky.; a
step-son; Donald Johnson of
Perryopolis; two sisters; Emma
Dolan of Pittsburgh and Alice
Madeira of Morgantown;
W.Va.; three grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by his
wife; Kathryn E. Bond; on Aug.
28; 1982; a step-son; Gerald
Johnson in August of 1997; and
a brother; Louis Horvath.

She was born Nov.22;1911;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Clyde and Millie Williams Neil. Mrs.Burrows was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law;Dorothy and Robert Sterdis of Belle Vernon;with whom she made her home;a son and daughter-in-law;James and Eleanor Burrows of Rostraver Township;two sisters-in-law;Yola Neil and Lois Burrows;six grandchildren;Bob Sterdis;Angela Burrows;Carol Walkush;Donna Shrum;Nancy Baker and James Burrows Jr.;and 11 great-grandchildren. Born Aug.13;1908;in Coal Valley;she was the daughter of the late James Blake and Harriet Ann Byers Wray. Mrs.Biddle lived in Belle Vernon from 1976 to 1996;moving to Chesterfield in November 1996. She was formerly of Monessen. She was a member of First Baptist Church;Monessen;and had worked as a volunteer for the Belle Vernon Meals on Wheels program at the Belle Vernon Hi-rise for several years. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Joseph Biddle;in 1974;one son;Robert Biddle;in 1987;two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are four grandchildren;Debra Biddle of Topeka;Kan.;Joseph Biddle of Shawnee;Kan.;Robin Hall of Ballwin;Mo.;and James Biddle;M.D.;of Ashville;N.C.;and five great-grandchildren. Born Feb.16;1929;in Charleroi;she was the daughter of the late John M.and Phillis Murray Bevan Sr. Miss Bevan was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church;Charleroi. She was a retired lab technician at Mon Valley Hospital;having 44 years of service. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by a brothr;John M.Bevan Jr.;a twin sister;Priscilla Stickle;and a sister;Jane Gray Thomas. Surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law;Nancy and Raymond Jones of Donora and Marilyn and Joseph Marklewicz of Belle Vernon;and a sister-in-law;Dorothy Bevan of Donora. Cal Bernardo;70;of 9 Eggers Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Monday;Jan.20;1997;at 12:40 p.m.in his home. Born Nov.16;1926;in Cleveland;Ohio;he was a son of the late Santo and Theresa Rizzutto Bernardo. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;he was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City. Mr.Bernardo retired in 1986 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen plant;where he worked in the weld shop. A U.S.Navy veteran of World War II;he was a member of American Legion Post 659 and VFW Post 699;both of Belle Vernon;and Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 494 of Charleroi. Mr.Bernardo was chariman of the credit committee at Valley First Federal Credit Union. He served on the reunion committee of the Rostraver High School Class of 1945. Survivors include his wife;Vivian Gavazzi Bernardo;two brothers and a sister-in-law;Santo Bernardo Jr.of Los Angeles;Calif.;and Richard and Judy Bernard of Coraopolis;a sister-in-law;Rose Klochak of Belle Vernon;and a brother-in-law;Roger Bridges of Belle Vernon.
