late Ernest and Hilda Boston
Como.
He was a member of First
United Methodist Church; Belle
Vernon; and was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area.
He retired in 1986 after 33
years of service as an accounting clerk with the U.S. Steel
Corporation; Pittsburgh.
He was a veteran of the
Korean Conflict; serving in Fort
Worth; Texas; and also serving
with the Air Force Band.
Survivors include his wife;
Shirley M. Boyd Como; one
daughter; Sandra E. Como at
home; one brother-in-law and
sister-in-law; Wayne and Urada
Boyd of Swiftwater; Pa.; two
nephews; Robert and David
Boyd; and one niece; Joni Boyd.
Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the
Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m.in the funeral home with Rev.Dr. Thomas St.Clair officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She was born on Jan.10;1930;in Monessen;a daughter of the late William L.and Pauline Hazlett Wentzel. She had been a lifelong resident of Monessen. She was a graduate of the Monessen High School;Class of 1947;and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints;Fayette City. Survivors include her husband;Robert D.Clark;a daughter;Debbie Holmes of Monessen;sons;Bob Clark of Nashville;Tenn.;Randy Clark;at home;and son and daughter-in-law;Bill G.and Donna Clark;of Stockdale;six grandchildren;a sister;Mrs.Vincent (Phyllis) Deluca of Millvale;and two brothers;William L.Wentzel Jr.;and Clifford Wentzel;both of Franklin;Tenn. Chippy Carlson;61;of Fayette City;died Wednesday;Sept.9;1992;at 2:20 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township;following a short illness. He was born Oct.6;1930;in Fayette City;a son of the late Clifford P.and Martha A.Hall Carlson. A member of Fayette City United Presbyterian Church;he had served as a corporal in the U.S.Marines Corps during the Korean Conflict. Mr.Carlson was a member of Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484 of Fayette City;Star Junction Fish and Game Club;Ruffsdale Gun Club;Rostraver Sportsman’s Conservation Association;Naomi Athletic Club;American Slovanic Citizens Club of Fayette City;National Amateur Trap Shooters Association and Twilight Trap Shooting League. Mr.Carlson retired in 1986 from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Allenport plant;where he had worked as a mill recorder. Survivors include his wife;Mary Ann Puskas Carlson;one son;Russ Carlson of Mount Lebanon;two sisters and brothers-in-law;Yvonne and Robert Premoshis and Judy and William Package;all of Fayette City;and his mother-in-law;Anna Puskas of Fayette City. Joseph M. Persico Sr.
Mrs. Conn had been proprietor
and manager of the former
Conn’s Corner Store and Deli for
10 years.
She had been a member of the
former St. Leonard Roman
Catholic Church; Monessen; and
was a member of The Epiphany
of Our Lord Roman Catholic
Church.
Surviving are her husband;
Eugene R. Conn; a son; Eugene
R. Conn Jr. of Monessen; two
daughters; Renee I. and Loree
L. Conn; both of Monessen; one
brother; Joseph M. Persico of
Monessen; two grandsons; John
and Derek Conn; and several
nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;where a Prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in The Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church;Monessen.
