Robert W.Elder;a past member and past president of North Belle Vernon Borough Council;died suddenly Sunday;Jan.14;1979 at 12:15 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp.  Mr.Elder;75;resided at 309 Henry St.;Belle Vernon.  Born in Star Junction;April 13;1903;he was the son of the late Alvin and Helen Whitelaw Elder.  Mr.Elder lived in the Belle Vernon area since 1936.  Mr.Elder was an employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Monessen plant;retiring on March 4;1967;with 45 years of service.  He was a member of the First Christian Church;and was a former member of the Belle Vernon Public Library Board.  Mr.Elder is survved by his widow;Ruth Mossburg Elder;and one brother;A.W.
