Ruth A.Elder;84;of Kenric Manor;Donora;died Wednesday;July 12;1989;at 3:34 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Aug.2;1904;in Belle Vernon;she was the daughter of the late Charles and Stella Hammitt Mossburg. Mrs.Elder had lived most of her adult life in the Belle Vernon area;and was a member of the Fayette City Christian Church. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Robert W.Elder;in 1979. Surviving are one brother;Albert Mossburg;and one sister;Bertha Roberts;both of Belle Vernon. Allenport Plant where he was a
repairman in the mechanical
department.

He is survived by his wife;

Kevin Scott Echart;34;74 Hubinger St.;New Haven;Conn.;died Friday;June 17;1988;in Yale-New Haven Hospital;as the result of an automobile accident at 1:55 a.m. on I-95 in Millford;Conn. He was born Nov.14;1953;in North Charleroi;the son of Raymond and Arlene Hille Echart;who survive and reside in Belle Vernon. Mr.Echart was a member of the Union Church of Pricedale;where he also served as organist. He had been living in New Haven since 1975. He graduated as valedictorian with the Belle Vernon Area High School Class of 1971;where he had been editor of the yearbook. He was also a member of the Youth for Christ Campus Life Quiz Team;and in 1971 was top quizzer in the church league and International Quizzer of the year. He graduated summa cum laude in 1975 from Hope College;Holland;Mich.;and in 1973 received the Robert L.Milka Memorial Award for Essays on European History while attending Vienna Summer School in Austria. During the summer of his junior year at Hope he taught English composition to Japanese exchange students. Mr.Echart also was presented the Ray DeYoung History Prize;and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received a scholarship for graduate study at Yale University and Earned his master’s degree in medieval history in 1977. He studied at Uppsala University in Sweden in 1980 and 1981. At the time of his death;he was teaching at Wesleyan College in Connecticut;while pursuing his doctorate in history at Yale. He was preceded in death by a sister;Laurie Zombek;on Feb.11;1986. In addition to his parents he is survived by his grandmother;Mrs.Mary Echart;and his great-aunt;Irene Robson;both of Belle Vernon;and a brother-in-law;James Zombek of North Versailles. and its Holy Name Society.
He was a member of Slovak Home
Bowling League.

Jane Robertson.

Norma Jean (Nin) Ehrhart of Belle Vernon R.D.2 died suddenly on Saturday;Feb.7;1987;of an apparent heart attack. She was 59. Mrs.Ehrhart was born April 6;1927;in Charleroi;a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Nichols Molle. A resident of Washington Township for over 40 years;she was a member of the Mon Valley Women’s Softball Association;having been active in that organization from 1972 to 1977. She had played with the Naomi Senkos and Washington Township softball teams. For 30 years;Mrs.Ehrhart operated the former Altier’s Sunoco Station on Route 201 in Rostraver Township. After the station closed in 1981;she worked up until the time of her death at Val’s Service Station on Route 906 in Rostraver Township. In addition to her parents whe was preceded in death by a sister;Betty Ehrhart;in 1981. For the past 40 years;she had resided with William G.and Florence Callaway of Belle Vernon R.D.2;who survive. Also surviving are two brothers;Emile Molle of Monessen and Joseph Molle of Orange Springs;Fla.;and several nieces and nephews;three of whom are William N.Callaway;Larry A.Callaway and Beverly Belczyk;all of Belle Vernon R.D.2.
