Carl Hutchison;of 123 Luella Ave.;Charleroi died suddenly in his home at 10:45 p.m. Sunday;April 19;1981. He was 82. Mr.Hutchison was born March 12;1899;in Mt.Airy;Md.;a son of the late James and Rose Hutchison. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation after 44 years service as manager of the lunch club at the Allenport plant. Mr.Hutchison was a member of Bethel AME Church;Monongahela;where he served as a trustee for many years. He was preceded in death by two wives;Mary Genevieve Hutchison;and Lois B.Hutchison. Richard H.Hamer;1359 Fayette Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;April 9;1981 in the Brownsville General Hospital.  He was 86.  Born Jan.21;1895 in Bridgeville;he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Hopkins Hamer.  Mr.Hamer had lived in Fairhope for over 60 years.  Mr.Hamer retired in 1960 as an inspector in the tube division at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Allenport plant.  He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church.  Mr.Hamer was preceded in death by his wife;Honor Breakwell Hamer on Dec.23;1969.  Survivors include three sons;R.Allen Hamer and John (Jack) I.Hamer;both of Belle Vernon;and Willard E.Hamer of Twilight;a daughter;Mrs.Hugh (Emogene) Dunn of Belle Vernon; a brother;Samuel Hamer of Fayette City;a sister;Mrs.Margaret Driscoll of Fayette City;11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Mary S.Howard;pastor of the Marion Presbyterian Church;officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. p m. He was 65.
Born Feb 8; 1915 in Belle
Vernon; he was the son of James Melvin Haywood of Fredericktown; who survives; and the late Catherine
Guder Haywood. He had been
a resident of Rossiter the past
five years; having formerly
lived in Dunlevy and Allenport.
Mr. Haywood was a former
employee of the Allenport
Plant of the former Pittsburgh Steel Company.
In addition to his father;
survivors include his widow;
Frances Kucia Haywood; a former Donora resident;two sons;Richard W.Powell of Columbus;Ohio;and Clifton E.Powell;a missionary in the Phillipines;a duaghter;Mrs.Judith Ann Bilinski of Redford;Mich.;a brother;Clifton R.Haywood of Phillipsburg;Miss.; a sister;Mary Lou Sowden;wife of Rev.Charles K.Sowden;of Fredericktown;and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1960;and two brothers;Melvin in 1945;and Richard in 1925. Charlotte M.Horst of 201 Village Dr.;Canonsburg;died Saturday;Oct.18;1980;in South Hills Convalescent Center. She was 75. She was born May 28;1905;in Charleroi;a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Horst;and was preceded in
death by a sister; Lucille
Horst Sneed; on June 29; 1979.
She was a graduate of
Charleroi schools; and
California State College; and
did graduate work at the
University of Pittsburgh; and
taught in Charleroi schools
until her retirement.
On her retirement as a
teacher; she became an active
member of the American
Cancer Society volunteers of
Charleroi.
She was a past president of
the Charleroi Gothic Club;
and was a member of the
Charleroi Athena Club;
Retired Teachers of
Washington County; the Pennsylvania
State Education
Association (PSEA) and the
National Education Association
(NBA).
She is survived by cousins
Ann Behrendt of Charleroi;
Josephine Belles and Louise
O’Connor; both of the State of
Florida; Richard Bennett of
Pittsburgh; Pa.; and Vera
Vance; and a brother-in-law;
Murel Sneed; of Speers.

James S.Houston of 457 Olive Ave.;North Charleroi;died Wednesday;Sept.10;1980;at 1:25 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. Mr.Houston was born Sept.3;1897;in Wilkes-Barre;Pa.;a son of the late William and Elizabeth Stevenson Houston. He was retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. A Protestant by faith;he was a U.S.Army veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow;Gemma Michelotti Houston;one granddaughter;Mrs.Armida Dora of Virginia Beach;Va.;and several nieces and nephews.
