John A.Harrison;56;of RD 2;Belle Vernon (Gibsonton);died Friday;Sept.14;1979;at 2:07 p.m.at Mon Valley Hospital. Born Sept.7;1923 at Lock Four;he was the son of Glenn Harrison and the late Mildred Metz Daugherty. He was preceded in death by his stepfather;the late Thomas Daugherty. He is survived by his wife;Velma Thieser Harrison;two daughters;Mrs.Neville (Gladys) Jolliffe;Silver Springs;Md.;and Varla Harrison of the home;two granddaughters;Tracy and Jennifer Jolliffe. Mr.Harrison was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley area. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi;the Lock Four Fire Department and the Rostraver Emergency Medical Services. A former employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.;Mr.Harrison retired in 1977 from the Monessen plant where he was an electrician. Visitation was held Saturday and Sunday at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;where services were conducted Monday morning at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev.Francis M.Blair;pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi;officiating. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Albert Harvey;87;of 209 N.Hillsborough Ave.;Arcadia;Fla.and formerly of Belle vernon;died Friday;Aug.10;1979;in G.Pierce Wood Hospital;Arcadia. Born October 25;1891 in Belle Vernon;he was the son of Thomas and Orpha Kelley Harvey;both of whom preceded him in death. Mr.Harvey was a member of the Arcadia First Presbyterian Church and was retired from the American Chain and Cable Company;Monessen. Survivors include his wife;the former Edith Sellars;of Arcadia;Fla.;two sons;Warren V.;of Dayton;Ohio and Bernard L.of Holyoke;Mass.;four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Services will be held Tuesday for Harry Hackenson Jr.;66;of 112 Wood St.;Belle Vernon;who died Friday night at 9 p.m.at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh after a short illness. Mr.Hackenson was born Jan.1;1913;at Frank;Pa.;a son of the late Harry and Elvina Whiteman Hackenson Sr. A lifetime resident of Belle Vernon;he had been employed at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp;coke plant;retiring in 1975 as a turn foreman. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and Belle Vernon Masonic Lodge 643 of which he was a past master. He is survived by his wife;Mrs.Ann Konecheck Hackenson;a son;Thomas Hackenson;a daughter;Ruth Ann;three sisters;Mrs.Harry (Thelma) Schmidt of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Mary Momyer of Parma;Ohio;and Miss Violet Hackenson of Morgantown;W.Va.;three brothers;Lee Hackenson and Elmer Hackenson of Belle Vernon and Jack Hackenson of Marietta;Ohio;and four grandchildren. Mr.Hough was born Oct.1;1917;in Fayette City;a son of Stuart and Luella Hough. A lifelong resident of the Mon Valley area;Mr.Hough was employed as a fireman for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp’s Monessen Southwestern Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Army. Survivors include his widow;Margaret Burke Hough and two sons;Stephen H.Hough of Pittsburgh and Stewart D.Hough of Dunlevy.
