Marie E.Lagler Lloyd of 301 Ella St.;Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;Jan.20;1982 at 10:10 p.m. in her home. She was 72. Mrs.Lloyd was born Aug.7;1909 in Johnson Hollow (Fayette City);a daughter of the late August and Margaret Peterman Lagler. She was preceded in death by a brother;William A.Lagler;and two sisters;Blanche Wilcox and Irene Muldowny. A life-long resident of the Belle Vernon area;Mrs.Lloyd was a member of the United Methodist Church;Fayette City;and its United Methodist Women’s organization. She was also a member of the Fayette City American Legion Auxuliary Post 484. Survivors include her husband;John R.Lloyd Sr.;to whom she was married 54 years;one son John R.Lloyd Jr.of Belle Vernon;one daughter;Mrs.Eugene A.(Lillian) Inserra of Belle Vernon;three sisters;Rose Lagler;Mrs.Alice Yuille and Mrs.Lillian Sweeney;all of Belle Vernon;three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Private family visitation and services were held at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;with the Rev.Eugene Stollings;pastor of the Fayette City United Methodist Church;officiating. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Paul E.(Putsy) Lewis; 52;director of District 15;United Steelworkers of America;of Jefferson Twp.;Perryopolis R.D.2;was dead on arrival Tuesday;Nov.2;1981 at 5:15 a.m.at Mon Valley Hospital;of an apparent heart seizure. Mr.Lewis was born in Elizabeth on Aug.24;1929;and moved to Charleroi in 1935. He attended Fallowfield Township Schools;starred in football at Charleroi High School and graduated in 1946. He also attended California State College. He served in the Far East during the Korean War with the Fifth Air Force. Survivors include his wife;Rose Olexa Lewis;two daughters;Mrs.Jeffrey (Kathy) Knight of Monongahela and Paula Lewis;at home;his mother;Mrs.Betty Fillingham of Charleroi;his father;Francis Lewis of Cairton;a brother;Francis Lewis of Belle Vernon and a sister;Mrs.Thomas (Shirley) Pullion of Charleroi. A member of St.John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church;Perryopolis;Mr.Lewis was active with the United Way of Mon Valley;having joined its board in 1980 and having served in the last two campaigns. He also had served as chairman of the Municipal Authority of Jefferson Twp.;was a volunteer fireman in that community and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends will be receieved in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.;Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 10 a.m. on Friday when a Blessing service will be held in the funeral home. The Rev.Frank Lesniowski;pastor of St.John the Baptist R.C.Church;Perryopolis;will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
