Bronislaw Brownie Lachowicz of 401 Main St.;Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;Jan.6;1988;at 7:35 p.m.at his home. He was 78. Mr.Lachowicz was born May 4;1909; in New York City; N.Y.; a son
of the late Apalonia and Marion
Lachowicz.
He was a member of St. Sebastian
Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon;
where he had served as an
usher for many years.
Mr. Lachowicz had been a
businessman in Belle Vernon and
Monessen for several years;
operating Brownie’s Hobby Shop.
He was a member of Belle Vernon
American Legion Post 659 and the
Polish National Alliance of
Monessen.
Mr. Lachowicz was a veteran of
World War II; having served with
the 368th Engineers Company of the
U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by his twin
brother; Stanislaw; and by another
brother; Valadymer. He was also
preceded in death by a nephew;
George Lachowicz..
Survivors include his wife; Edith
Sellaro Lachowicz; one sister; Jean
Leone of Patchoff; N.Y.; and one
nephew; Walter Lachowicz of White
Plains; N.Y.
Friends will be received Thursday

4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson

WALTER E. LENHART
Walter E.Lenhart of 804 Jane St.;Speers Hill;Charleroi;died suddenly on Saturday;Dec.26;1987;at 8:15 p.m.at his home. He was 74. Mr.Lenhart was born Feb.2;1913;in Pricedale. He was a member of Speers United Methodist Church. Mr.Lenhart was a member and past president of F&AM Lodge No.643;and was also a member of the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection. In 1948;he was elected to the Belle Vernon Cemetery Association Board of Directors. In April 1949 he became treasurer of that board;a post he held until his death. Mr.Lenhart had been employed at the former Vance Hardware Store for 29 years until 1962;when he became a partner in the former Monessen Pluming and Electric store until 1985. A former Belle Vernon area resident;he had lived in Speers since 1951. Mr.Lenhart is survived by his wife;Lois Thompson Lenhart. Dorothy M.Leithold of 217 Henry St.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;Sept.27;1987;at 2:10 a.m. She was 69. Miss Leithold was born Oct.2;1917;in Fairhope;a daughter of the late Paul and Ella Chambers Leithold. She was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church;Fairhope. A 1935 graduate of Fayette City High School;she had spent most of her life in the Belle Vernon area. Miss Leithold was a former employee of the federal government in Washington;D.C. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers;Fred and Wilbur. Survivors include one brother;William Leithold of Belle Vernon;and a sister;Ruth Horning of Uniontown. William R.Lamey of 26 Reed Ave.;Monessen;died Monday;Sept.21;1987;in Jefferson Hospital. He was 26. He was born in North Charleroi on March 28;1961;the son of Mrs.Gladys Perney Lamey;who survives;and the late William B.Lamey. A 1979 graduate of Monessen High School;he was also graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and attended Kent State University in Ohio. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Monessen. Mrs.Lancaster was born in Monessen on June 30;1904;a daughter of the late Morgan and Mary Tucker James Sr. She was a member of First Baptist Church;Monessen. A life-long resident of the Mon Valley;she has lived in Gibsonton since 1945. John L.Linday of Belle Vernon R.D.died Wednesday;May 20;1987;in South Hills Health System’s Jefferson Center. He was 50. Mr.Lindey was born Dec.26;1936;in Sutersville;a son of Lewis Lindey;who survives and resides in Fayette City R.D.;and the late Gretchen Knight Lindey. He was an employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. A Protestant by faith;Mr.Lindey was a member of the Allenport Rod and Gun Club.
