He was born March 15;1922;in Homestead;a son of the late John and Anna Julia Vagasky Michaels Sr. Mr.Michaels had resided in Monessen for the past 45 years. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. A veteran of World War II;he had served in the U.S.Marines. He was a member of the Charleroi Post of the VFW. He is survived by three brothers;Frank Michaels of Elizabeth and Elmer Michaels and Anthony Paul Michaels;both of Monessen;four sisters;Mrs.Ann Pagonis of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Helen Martin of Clearwater;Fla.;Mrs.Margaret Mann of Monongahela and Mrs.Ted (Dolores) Zyglowicz of Monessen;and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a sister;Agnes Michaels and a brother;John Michaels Jr. Friends will be recieved at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Minnie Ferrari Mazzie;90;of Charleroi;died Sunday;Feb.23;1992;in Brownsville General Hospital. Born March 13;1901;in Italy;she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Assunta Orsucci Ferrari. Mrs.Mazzie was a member of Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church;Charleroi;and its Ladies Altar Society and Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the John K.Tener Library Association and worked as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Prier to her retirement;she worked as a clerk at the former Miller’s Fashion Store in Charleroi. She was also a former school crossing guard in Dunlevy. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Alfred Mazzie;three brothers;Charles;Reno and Nello Ferrari;and three sisters;Jean Pantaleo;Carobina Niccolai and Lena Mazzei. Surviving are three brothers;William Ferrari of Crockett;Texas;Albert Ferrari of Fayette City and Alfred Ferrari of Speers;one sister;Charlotte Pardiny of Charleroi;and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m.in Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church;Charleroi;with the Rev.David Jastrab;pastor;as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers;the family suggests donations to Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church;Charleroi;or the John K.Tener Library. Joseph Mochnaly Jr.;82;of Webster;died on Thursday;Dec.12;1991;at 6:15 a.m.at Jefferson Hospital. He was born on Jan.27;1909;in Jessup;Pa.;a son of the late Joseph and Susan Lapahusky Mochnaly Sr. Mr.Mochnaly was a lifelong resident of the Monessen and Webster areas. He was a member of St.Nicholas Orthodox Church of Donora;Belle Vernon American Legion and the Monessen Senior Citizens. He retired in 1974 from the Monessen plant at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company where he was employed as a scarfer.
