George Povich Jr.;82;of Monessen;died Wednesday;June 30;1999;in Westmoreland Manor. Born May 6;1917;in Monessen;he was a son of the late George Povich Sr.and Anna Sutovich Povich. A lifelong resident of Monessen;he was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. Mr.Povich was retired from Wheeling -Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen plant;where he had worked as a rigger in the finishing department. He was a member of St.John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church;Monessen. Mr.Povich was also a member of American Legion Post 659 of Belle Vernon;and the Slovak Home;Croatian Home and CFU Lodge 194;all of Monessen.
