Joseph Rogowitz of 153 Pennsylvania Blvd.;Monessen;died Sunday;February 22;1981;at 12:15 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital following a declining illness. Mr.Rogowitz was born June 1;1910;in Boston;Mass.;a son of the late Harry and Racheal Stone Rogowitz. A resident of Monessen most of his life;Mr.Rogowitz was retired from the Electrical Department of the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr.Rogowitz was a U.S.Army veteran having served in World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 28;Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190 and Mon Valley Association of Retired Steelworkers;all of Monessen. Orthelia Mae Rankin of the Belle Vernon Apartments;died Tuesday;Dec.30;1980;at 1:20 p.m. in the Monongahela Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. She was 77. Mrs.Rankin was born Dec.23;1903;in Fayette City;a daughter of the late James and Annie Shoack Anderson. John Henry Rutledge of 408 Reed Ave.; Monessen; was pronounced dead on arrival at Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township at 9:36 a.m. Saturday;Nov.1;1980. He was 65.
Mr. Rutledge was born in Birmingham; Ala.;on Aug 31;1915;a son of the late John Rutledge and Rose Anderson Wilson.
He retired in July of 1980 from the Blast Furnace at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp.
He was a member of Joseph H.Ford Post 691 of The American Legion in Monessen.
Survivors include his widow;Martha; one sister;Mrs.Velma Lee of Chicago; Ill.and a host of aunts;cousins;nieces and nephews.
