Emil F.Rieu of 644 Third St.;Monessen;died at 10 a.m.Friday;July 24;1981;in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.;Carroll Township after an illness of two years. Mr.Rieu was 85. He was born in France on June 21;1896;and had resided on Third St.for the past 63 years. He was employed at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.for 55 years before retiring 10 years ago. Mr.Rieu was a member of St.Cajetan Roman Catholic Church and the Croatian Club;both of Monessen;and also was an original founder of the French Club in Monessen. He is survived by his widow;Henriette Cayral Rieu;two sons;Lt.Col.Emil H.Rieu of the U.S.Air Force in Bowie;Md.;and Eli O.Rieu of Monessen;seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
