Carlton Lee Tansmore;four-year-old son of Mr.and Mrs.Merriell Tansmore;220 Ninth St.;Monessen;died Friday night;April 17;1964 in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital ;apparently of injuries suffered when struck by an automobile last Monday afternoon;April 13. Young Tansmore was struck near Ninth St. and Schoonmaker Ave. He was rushed to Charleroi-Monessen Hospital where he remained on the critical list with head injuries until his death. The Tansmore boy received a skull fracture when police said he darted from a parked vehicle into the path of an auto driven by Michael Abraham;128 Pennsylvania Blvd.Monessen. Abraham took the victim to the hospital. An autopsy was to be performed today. Stephen Yoney;Westmoreland County coroner;said he would make a further investigation into the case. former Westmoreland County
Detective Arthur (Buddy) Turner;
died suddenly in Pittsburgh’s
Mercy Hospital at 6:50 p.m. She was 65.
On New Year’s Day; Mrs.
Turner and two grandchildren
were routed from her home in
the Sweeney Plan of Rostraver
Twp. when the roof caught fire.
She and the children escaped
unhurt; but she became ill yesterday
and was rushed to the
hospital.
Her husband was generally
acknowledged as the political
leader of the county’s powerful
Democratic Party.
For 44 years; Mrs.Turner
lived in Pricedale. Three years
ago she moved to the Sweeney
Plan.
Mrs. Turner was born in McKeesport on Aug. 15; 1898. She
was a member of the Belle Vernon
American Legion Auxiliary.

F. of San Diego; Calif.; and
George P. of Pricedale; two
daughters; Mrs. Chester (Uba)
Dale of West Newton; and Mrs
James (Eileen) Huber of Pricedale;

Douglas Tonini;20;14 Myers Ave.;Monessen;drowned Thursday;Aug.15;1963 in the Youghiogheny Reservior near Confluence but his nine-year-old nephew;Danny Tonini of Belle Vernon;was rescued. The victim was carrying his nephew on his shoulders in the crowded Somerfield Beach area of the reservior on U.S.Route 40 east when he fell and both were submerged. The nephew was pulled safely to shore by other swimmers who heard his cries for help. Police said the boy told his rescuers that his uncle was carring him on his shoulders when he apparently fell about 3:30 p.m. Mr.Tonini was recovered about 30 minutes later. Tonini and his nephew had been on a fishing trip in the Confluence area since Tuesday. Tonini had worked from May 28 to June 28 in the wire mill department at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. A 1961 graduate of Monessen High School;he was a student at the Allegheny Technical School;Pittsburgh. Surviving are his parents;Marco and Mary Rossi Tonini;two sisters;Mrs.Philip Gerald (Lucy Marie) Ronco;a Jehovah Witness missionary in the state of Massachusetts;and Mrs. Anthony (Florence) DeLuca of Pittsburgh;two brothers;Nicholas of Belle Vernon;and Roger of Monessen;three nieces and two nephews.
