Joseph Kolasa;age 35;of Fairhope;succumbed at 3 o’clock on Thursday afternoon;June 11;1931;in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital from injuries received Tuesday night about 8:45 when an auto in which he was driving collided head-on with a West Side street car at the intersection of Cherry Alley and Broad avenue;North Belle Vernon. He suffered a fractured skull;fracture of the leg and lacerations about the face and head. He remained in a state of coma practically ever since being admitted to the hospital but Wednesday night regained consciousness for a time and recognized friends. Following hie death yesterday afternoon the deputy coroner was notified and will conduct an investigation. The body was removed to the Baker undertaking rooms in Fayette City;from where it was taken this morning to the home of the deceased. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock from the home. He is survived by his wife;Antonette;a daughter;Irene;15 and two sons;Joseph Jr.;13 and Charles; 11. Mr.Kolasa was a very active organization and welfre worker in the district;especially as a member of the P.N.A. He was manager of the P.N.A.baseball team at Arnold City and also the league treasurer. He was also a district delegate to the last two P.N.A.conventions;which were held in Philadelphia and Chicago. This was considered an honor in view of the fact that 2;800 members of the organization are located in this district. The members of District 60 will pay thier final respects to their dead brother tomorrow evening at his late home. The accident was witnessed by numerous people who were on the streets to view the Firemen’s parade which had just passed by.
