John G.Bowen;64;a former resident of Belle Vernon;died at 1:20 o’clock Sunday morning;Feb.13;1944;at the home of his daughter;Mrs.Ray Pro;817 McKean avenue; Charleroi. For the last 15 years;Mr.Bowen had been janitor at the Belle Vernon school and previously had been employed by the American Window Glass Company. Surviving are his daughter;Mrs.Pro and a grandson;Seaman Albert J.Ward;stationed in Miami;Florida. A sister;Mrs.Joseph Raffelo;of Clarksburg;W.Va.;also survives. Friends will be received at his daughter’s home until Wednesday morning at ten o’clock when the remains will be taken to the Melenyzer Funeral Home in Belle Vernon. Services will be held there at two o’clock. Rev.Walter Klages will have charge of services and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Chas.L.and Edwin Melenyzer are the funeral directors in charge.

John Bakush;age 74 years;of West Brownsville;R.D.2;died in Brownsville hospital;Thursday;November 4;1943;at 8:30 p.m. He was born in Czechoslovakia and was a member of the Greek Catholic Church in West Brownsville. He is survived by four daughters;Mrs.Anna Metrosky of Monessen;Mrs.Susan Brazon of Belle Vernon;R.D.2;Mrs. Julia Gillingham of Wilson;and Mrs.Helen Parkinson of West Brownsville. Seven grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the home of a daughter;Mrs.Susan Brazon;Belle Vernon;R.D.2. Services will be held there Sunday;November 7;1943;at 3 p.m.;in charge of Rev.Sokal of Brownsville. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
