Mrs.Alice Boris;aged 26 years;died Wednesday;September 12;1945 at 6:15 p.m.at the Cresson State hospital;following a lingering illness. The family resided in Belle Vernon;R.D. Surviving is her husband;Michael;a son;Gregory Michael;her parents;Mr.and Mrs.Fred Kozak;of Belle Vernon;two brothers;William Kozak;in the Navy;Samuel Kozak;at home. A sister;Mrs.Helen Bulger;of Belle Vernon;R.D.;also survives. Another sister;Mrs.Mary Ann Swader;died Septermber 8;at Cresson;her funeral being held yesterday. Friends are being received at the Toner Funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday morning;September 15;1945.

Mrs.Anna Beresik;age 59 years;of 840 Graham street;Belle Vernon;died August 28;1945;at 2:30 a.m. She is survived by two sons;George at home and Pfc.Andrew Beresik in Czechoslovakia;one brother;George Vankulich of Monessen;one sister;Mrs.Mary Smerigan of West Aliquippa;and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at the late home. Services will be held in the St.Mary’s Greek Catholic Church;Monessen;Friday;August 31;1945;in charge of Rev.John Bovankovich. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.

Roy N.Baker;a resident of Monessen for a number of years;died Monday;August;27;1945;at at 3 a.m.at the family home;556 Donner avenue.  He had been employed as a pipe fitter at the Pittsburgh Steel company.  Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Florence Baker;and a daughter;Madeline.  A sister;Mrs.Charles Crowe;of Monessen;and five brothers;Harry;Earl and Ralph;of Monessen;Oscar of Long Branch Borough;and Louis;of North Charleroi;also survive.    Friends will be received at the Check Funeral Home until Thursday;August 30;1945;at 8:30 a.m.;when funeral services will be held;followed by additional rites at St.Leonard’s Church with Father Owen J.Kirby officiating.  Interment will follow at the Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Joseph R.Check;funeral director in charge.

Mrs.Mary Brazack;age 70 years;of 28 Johnson St.;East Belle Vernon;died at her home;August 1;1945;at 8 p.m.;after a brief illness. She was a member of St.John’s Lutheran church;Charleroi. She is survived by her husband;George Brazack;Sr.;one daughter;Mrs.John Balaska of Belle Vernon;five sons;George Jr.;John Andrew;Paul and Martin;all of Belle Vernon;nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the late home and will gather there Saturday;August 4;at 1 o’clock before going to St.John’s Lutheran church in Charleroi;where services will be held. Rev. A.B.Svasko will have charge of services and interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery. Chas.L.and Edwin Melenyzer are funeral directors.

Clarence Burrows;26;320 Roley street;Belle Vernon;a discharged veteran of World War II;died at the scene of a bus-automobile collision on Rt.51;five miles south of Elizabeth on Tuesday;July 3;1945. He is survived by his parents;Mr.and Mrs.James Burrows;and two brothers;Pfc.Edward in North Carolina;and Pvt.Howard at Lahvre;France. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the St.Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral home;Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;and on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock a Requiem High Mass will be held at the St.Sebstian Church;Belle Vernon. Father Eugene Harkins will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Adam Baker;575 Donner avenue;was stricken while at work at the Page Division of the American Chain and Cable Company Sunday afternoon;May 13;1945;and died a short time later in the mill hospital.  According to reports;he was engaged in his duties as oiler at the mill when he was taken ill.  He reported to the hospital and a doctor was summoned.  He died of a heart attack at 5:30 p.m.;a few minutes after the doctor arrived.  Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Anna baker;four sons;James;S/Sgt.Charles;stationed at Wendover Field;Utah;Cpl.Eugene in France;Robert at home;two daughters;Geraldine and Catherine;at home;six brothers;Harry;Earl;Ralph;and Roy;all of Monessen;Oscar;of Long Branch Boro;and Louis;of North Charleroi;and a sister;Mrs.Charles Crowe;of Monessen.  two grandchildren also survive.  Friends will be received at the Check Funeral home until Thursday;May 17;when funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m.;followed by additional rites at 9 a.m.at St.Leonard’s Church with Rev.Owen J.Kirby officiating.  Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Joseph R.Check;funeral director in charge.
