of 216 McKean avenue; Charleroi; died in Charleroi-Monessen hospital;Tuesday; June 26; 1945; at 2:40 a. m.;after an illness of one day. He was a member of the United Brethren Church of Dunlevy; and was employed by the government in the
Liggett Spring and Axle Company in Monongahela. He is survived by his wife; Mrs. Marie O’Leary Haywood; two daughters;Carol and Patricia;his parents;Mr.and Mrs.Melvin Haywood of Allenport;two brothers;Leland at home and Clifton in the Armed Services in France;and one sister;Mrs.Charles Sowden of Roscoe. Friends will be received at the home of his parents;Mr.and Mrs.Melvin Haywood;Sr.;of Allenport. Services will be held there Friday;June 29;1945;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.Meade Rugh and Rev.Mary Elizabeth Kunselman. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Mrs.Harriet Huston;age 65 years;of 213 Henry street;Belle Vernon;died in Charleroi-Monessen hospital;Saturday;May 5;1945;at 7:15 a.m. Mrs.Huston had been ill about two weeks. She was a member of the Fayette City Presbyterian Church and of the Eastern Star of Belle Vernon. She spent her childhood in the vicinity of Fayette City but had been a resident of Belle Vernon for 28 years. Surviving are her husband Harry A.Huston;one daughter;Margaret at home;a brother and sister;Price Edmunds of Fayette City and Mrs.Mary Ramsey of Detroit. Friends will be received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home;700 Broad avenue;Belle Vernon. Services will be held there Tuesday;May 8;1945;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.Herbert G.Mountain of the Belle Vernon Baptist Church and Rev.George Kress of the Belle Vernon Presbyterian Church.
