Clyde C. Houseman; aged 47 years;
prominent Fairhope resident and chief
clerk at the Naomi Mine of the Hillman Coal and Coke Company; died Wednesday
evening at 6:15 o’clock in the Memorial hospital; Monongahela; after a
one-day illness. Mr. Houseman was
apparently in the best of health. He
was at his desk in the mine offices all
day Tuesday and that evening attended a ball game. Upon
home later he complained of a headache and at 11 o’clock was stricken.
He lapsed into a coma later and was
removed to the hospital; where death
occurred last night.
The deceased; a member of the
Presbyterian Church of Fairhope; is
survived by his wife; Mrs. Tillie
Houseman; four sons; Irwin; James;
Clyde; Jr.; and Warren; one sister;
Mrs. Mable Kissler; of Belle Vernon and many friends who are bereaved with his passing.
Funeral services will be held at the
late home in Fairhope Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev.Hunter;former pastor in Fairhope;officiating. Singers will be Mrs.Robert McLaren of Charleroi;Jack Hoyes and Rev.and Mrs.Hunter. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Edwin Hopton;of 580 Schoonmaker avenue;aged 40 years;died suddenly Thursday afternoon;January 28;1937. He had been a resident of Monessen for a number of years and was in the employ of the Pittsburgh Steel Company. He was a member of the Monessen Volunteer Fire Company. Surviving are his wife;Ruth Kulow Hopton;four children;Miss June Hopton of Detroit;Mich.;and Leona May;Betty Lola and Edwin Jr.;at home. His mother;Mrs.J.E.Hopton of Speers also survives;along with three brothers and a sister;Ernest;Elvin and Mrs.Mildred Sonkoly of Detroit and Ray Hopton of Speers. Funeral services are announced for Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the St.Paul’s Lutheran Church;with the church pastor;the Rev.R.F.Steininger and Rev.E.Boetticher of the Methodist Episcopal Church;officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Harry Wesley Hite;died Sunday morning;December 6;1936;at 7:10 a.m.at the home of his son;James Hite;R.F.D.2;Belle Vernon;after a week’s illness. Surviving are his wife;Leona;two sons;James;at whose home he died;and John;of New Castle;and a daughter;Mrs.Margaret Love;of Charleston;W.Va. Funeral services are announced for 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon from the home;with interment to follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
