Services will be held Monday;Nov.13;1950;for First Lieutenant Herbert Konecheck;of Belle Vernon;a pilot lost over Augsburg;Germany;on July 19;1944;while flying with the 396th Bomber Squadron. He was born in Belle Vernon on May 3;1917. He enlisted in the U.S.Air Corps on Sept.12;1942 and graduated at Stockton Field;Calif.;where he received his wings. In civilian life;he worked at Duwall Lumber Co.in Belle Vernon. He graduated from Rostraver High School with the class of 1935. He was married March 29;1941 to the former Ruth Geho of Lynnwood.He is survived by his parents;Mr.and Mrs.Nicholas Konecheck of Otto St.;Belle Vernon;three sisters;Mrs.Catherine Boltze of Lynnwood;Mrs.Anne Hackenson of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Emma Jernberg of Beaver Falls;and two brothers;Norman and William;both of Belle Vernon. The body will arrive on Armistice Day at 10 o’clock;from where it will be taken to Toner Funeral Home;Broad avenue;Belle Vernon. Friends will be recieved at Toner’s after 7 p.m.Saturday. Military funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the funeral home;in charge of Rev.Charles Fair;pastor of the Lutheran Church in Lynnwood.
