The deceased was born in Corning;Ohio;and had been a resident of Belle vernon for the past 35 years. Until her health failed a number of years ago;she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon;and a member of the Edna Marston Bible Class there. He was a member of St.Edward’s Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City. True to his promise that he would some day end it all John Kiefer;58;car inspector at the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie railroad yards at Monessen;hanged himself last night. His body was found suspended from a rope in the blacksmith shop at 6 a.m. He had been dead only a short time. Kiefer had been under medical care for a heart condition and had told his wife several times that he might end his life. Kiefer lived at 9 East Schoonmaker avenue. He had been a car inspector for 20 years and was a veteran of World War One. Surviving are his wife Mrs.Lavurn Worley Kiefer;the following sons and daughters; Ray;Rodney Lee and Larry J.and Olive Mae at home;Mrs.John Maudron;Mrs.Robert Lowe and Mrs.Robert Helon;Monessen;and the following sisters Mrs.Elizabeth Gates and Mrs.John DelBarre;Monessen;Mrs.Emma Kiefer;Webster;Mrs.Clyde Mosier;Uniontown.
