David Norris;aged 88 years;of Charleroi R.D.;died suddenly at 4:55 p.m. Monday;August 26;1940 of a heart attack. He was born in Twilight borough on May 11;1852 and spent his entire life in that section. His parents were the late Jacob Norris and Lydia Bowman Norris;both Pennsylvania natives. Surviving are three sons;James;Ephriam and Jacob;of Charleroi;four daughters;Mrs.Lottie Reed of Uniontown;Mrs.Anna Johnson of Flint; Mich.;Mrs.Allen (Mary)Griffey of Charleroi and Mrs.Grace Simpson of Pricedale;Pa.;sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the late home until Thursday afternoon when services will be held at 2 o’clock;the Rev.John Smith officiating. Interment will be made in Belle Vernon cemetery. Surviving are three sons;J.Harry of Bristolville;O.;Clarence of Belle Vernon and Earl also of Belle Vernon;three daughters;Mrs.Edward Mills of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Cecelia Acres of Smethport and Mrs.Laretia Goddissart of Belle Vernon;sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the home until 2 p.m.Thursday;November 16;when home services are to be conducted by the Rev.P.E.Mundy. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Charles Neil;aged 58 years;died Wednesday morning;January 26;1938;at 9:50 o’clock in the home of his brother;Clarenc Neil;Market street;Belle Vernon. He had been making his home with his brother for the past six months. Previous to that he had resided in East Belle Vernon. Death followed an illness of six weeks. Surviving are his father;Henry Neil;three brothers;Harry of Spokane;Ohio and Clarence and Earl Neil of Belle Vernon;also three sisters;Mrs.Cora Mills of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Lorena Godissart of Lynnwood;and Mrs.Margaret Acre;of Smethport. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev.R.N.Large;pastor of the Free Methodist Church;officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
