Miss Sarah June Owens;aged 66 years;died at her home in Belle Vernon Sunday morning;July 6;1919;after a three months’illness;cancer being the cause of death. Five weeks ago she was removed to the McKeesport hospital where it was thought an operation might prove successful;but she continued to grow worse and was brought home where her suffering was intense until the end came. Miss Owens had been a life long resident of this district;being a daughter of the late David Owens;who formerly owned a large farm here;the present site of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. She was a member of the Belle Vernon M.E.Church;a W.C.T.U.worker and a devout Christian woman. She is survived by five sisters as follows:Mrs.Letitia Myers and Miss Laura Owens of Belle Vernon;Mrs.William Davis of Grove City and Mrs.Elizabeth Myers and Mrs.Sam Ross of Monessen. Funeral services will be held from the church Tuesday afternoon;July 8;1919;at 2 o’clock with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

MYRTLEHARVEY NELSON
Mrs.Myrtle Nelson;nee Harvey;age 64 years;widow of William A.Nelson;died suddenly at her home in Tampa;Florida;Sunday;November 23;1952. She was the daughter of Thomas W.Harvey. Mrs. Nelson was a former resident of Belle Vernon;and while living there was an active member of the First Baptist Church;where she was a charter member of the Edna Malston Sunday School Class. She was also a member of several lodges in Belle Vernon;and with her husband;who was employed for many years with the West Penn Power Company;was well known in this district. They left Belle Vernon a number of years ago to go South due to Mr.Nelson’s helth;and Mrs.Nelson’s last visit to Belle Vernon was this past summer;when she spent several weeks here. Preceded in death by her husband;who passed away two years ago;Mrs.Nelson is survived by three brothers;Price Harvey of Greensboro;Pa.;Albert Harvey of Belle Vernon and Charles Harvey of Monessen;and one sister;Mrs.Ada Grant of Belle Vernon. The body will arrive in Belle Vernon late Thursday afternoon;and friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home after six o’clock that evening. Services will be held there Saturday;November 29;1952;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.J.C.Puz;pastor of the Belle Vernon Baptist church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery.
